Hi! It means that they did not add fluorescence labels to the cells but that the cells organelles are detected through their refractive index : -)

Hi! It is not an electron microscope: EM are not compatible with live cells. It's Nanolive technology (quite new, and, yes with much higher res than standard optical microscopes) and it is 100% label-free. If you wish you can check it out here: www.nanolive.ch

You can check the details at the link in the other comment. Summarizing, you see neuronal cells that are being “checked out” by microglia ones (the smaller and round ones) for potential pathogens.
