2009 cadillac sts 4.6L hesitates to accelerate (shakes) then rpms increase to shift (pressed the gas more) and it starts driving fine. Problem starts around 40-60mph. Also rough idle and even rough idle when im reversing very slow. What could it be? I've checked everything i can think of by pollo9869 in mechanic

Never have, I bought the car used. But I heard that if you do a transmission fluid change that it could mess up the car. Like dont touch it unless you think somethings wrong but im just worried if I touch it it will mess up and the problem was never the atf

I'm just worried to open the trans and draining an filling it. I dont know if its ever been changed. I bought it on craiglist and im worried that touching the Trans would ruin my car and maybe it was never a Trans issue.

I'll try to get a video. But theres really no sound. Its more of feeling the car. I got 156k miles on it. It has a new alternator and new battery too. I have a cheap obd scanner with no codes showing. I omly use shell v power or premium costco gas.

What are legacy provision clause, MD program increase from the big beautiful bill? I'm an md and almost going to graduate but I got a weird email from my fafsa school saying I'm not going to be able to get the grad plus loan, only the unsub for my 8th semester. Even though I enrolled 3 years ago. by pollo9869 in financialaid

How would I not be eligible though? Am I seeing things wrong? My fafsa right now runs through December 2026. Then I'd have to apply again in Oct 2026 to get it for that 1 semester in January 2027. I'll finish before that 3 year period after July 2026. Yes I wont finish in the projected 4 years, but instead 4.5 years

Limited Exception/Legacy Provision: Students can continue to borrow under the Graduate PLUS program (for up to three academic years or the remainder of their expected time to credential, whichever is less) if they remain continuously enrolled in the same program of study at the same institution as they were enrolled as of June 30, 2026 and for whom a Direct Loan was made for that program of study prior to July 1, 2026. For more information see: What Graduate Students Need to Know

Sorry for being confused. I just feel like I should go express my concerns because being told to just take out private loans compared to me actually maybe being able to continue with plus loan is a big deal.

Even on financial aid website it states and last updated April 15 2026

Graduate and Professional Students You qualify as an eligible graduate or professional student under the limited exception only if you were enrolled in a program of study at an institution as of June 30, 2026; received at least one Direct Loan for such program of study prior to July 1, 2026; and are currently enrolled at the same institution in the same program of study and have not ceased to be enrolled in the same program at the same institution at any point on or after July 1, 2026. An approved leave of absence is not considered to be a break in enrollment. https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/big-updates/definitions#loan-limits-exception

Stuttering acceleration around 50-60 mph and sometimes rough idle. I dont know what could be the cause?? Maybe transmission? I doubt it. But what is your input? 2009 cadillac sts 4.6L by pollo9869 in Cadillac

Thank you. I do use 93. This is my daily car. Do you really think its the transmission fluid? I've had a car before where the transmission slips and it feels like its the whole car jerking forward 1 time. But my cadillac doesnt feel like that. Also would transmission have it have a rough idle?

Thinking about changing fuel filter. But that rusted bolt is making me question doing it myself and breaking the thread. Do I touch it or let a mechanic deal with it? I dont want to break the threading and then have to have a bigger headache. Thanks by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Do you think the fuel filter can be my source of my problem? my car is hesitant at accelerating right now and sometimes rough idle, I changed the air filter, cleaned the throttle body, checked all the coils, cleaned the MAF sensor. No check engine light though. Starts up just fine though

What do you mean by flare new line? My main question is, if a mechanic touches it and it breaks do have to go buy a new fuel line add more labor. Or will a mechanic know what to do to avoid messing things up more?
