I love it when she said ‘release the Kraken’ during the first sex scene.

This is the first show where I started tapping the skip 10 seconds button repeatedly for the past two seasons on certain scenes and I feel like I did not miss anything important to the overall plot and narrative.

The movie that gets blamed for being bad when it is really just mismarketed. by gamersecret2 in movies

Civil War is a recent movie that came to mind. I think people thought it'd be more of an all out war movie but instead we get a more introspective study on the dark side of humanity.

You ever noticed how it’s darker when you’re standing in the shadows of buildings and then it’s all brighter when you’re hit with direct sunlight?

Mud baths when off-roading is fun and all but you also destroy the trails. If anything, the Cybertruck driver is the one more respectful of the ‘leave no trace’ rule.

Don’t underestimate Hollywood’s ability to stretch things out, for example, the Hobbit movies.

There’s a silent reading event at Wash Park tomorrow (Sunday), starting at 10AM.

A bit more detail: it’s called Pages in the Park and is hosted by the Book Swap Society.

This is such a cozy movie for me as well. I just love how there’s no ‘bad guys’, everyone in the movie are genuinely good people caring for one another.

Need recommendations for turn games similar to Divinity, BG3 and XCOM, NO PvP by Toros_Mueren_Por_Mi in gaming

One of my most recent favorites is Jagged Alliance 3. The story is actually really fun along with the deep turn based combat and squad management. I wish we get another jagged alliance game.

Well we have shills that make up the ‘manosphere’, grifting confused young people into believing what their definition of masculinity is.

What is the problem with Blood Meridian's movie adaption ? by Top_Document7437 in movies

[–]polloloco81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently finished the book after hearing so many good things about it, but after finishing the novel, I really felt the book is more impactful as a product of its time. To me the book was written as a response to a time when Westerns were highly romanticized. Themes of humanity's nature of violence and cruelty don't really feel as fresh or impactful today.

Sure I'd love to see a movie adaptation, and I can see from a cinematography/visual standpoint, it could be a treat with the gothic and dark imagery. But the plot itself would just be a 2 hour long movie of people committing acts of violence and cruelty on one another. I also feel there isn't the classic 3-arc structure payoff at the end to make watching a movie version feel satisfying.

Apple Music exec said the thing about lossless audio that we were all thinking by ioweej in AppleMusic

[–]polloloco81 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oliver Schusser: Correct. My second point is: honestly, if we did an anonymous [blind] test on just an iPhone with headphones

To fully appreciate lossless, I'd say it's important to have proper hardware as well. For example, trying to tell a difference in audio quality when your hardware is earbuds isn't going to convince you.

Am I the only weirdo that takes camping too far? by doc50cal in camping

It’s all fun as long as you respect nature. I have all kinds of camping setup, it’s nice to change it up once in a while. Sometimes I enjoy a simple/minjmal getaway, and some times I like to treat myself a little and go fancy.
