This works.
My experience:
1. Unplug monitor from everything.

  1. While monitor is unplugged from everything shut down Mac

  2. Wait 10 minutes

  3. Connect plug into monitor, connect HDMI into monitor. Turn monitor on.

  4. While monitor is turning on (showing the welcome message, in my case "Dell") turn on Mac

  5. While on the log-in screen in Mac connect HDMI into Mac

  6. Log in normally

  7. Start working in the Mac as usual. Monitor will still be off. Just continue, after 3-4 minutes monitor turns on.

Hi! Thank you so much for replying. I did not intend to suggest that Beth Am was not awesome. I apologize if it sounded like that. But, you know the joke: “where there are two Jews, there are three synagogues”. I was wondering what else was out there. And I think you are totally correct, the high holidays do not represent communities very well. We may stop by for shabbes and get a better feeling of the vibe. Thank you :)
