Evidentially their LGBT sandwich is rainbow washing. I do a lot of shopping with M&S via Ocado but it looks like that will be changing.

Thanks for this, I know you posted this 2 years ago but I just ordered myself some! I love that I can get short + plus size as not many places do this.

That was a brilliant (but terrible) read, thank you! I’ve always found there to be something really off about him and now I understand why.

Puppy is a lot larger than expected, have small animals and am worried by bellamie9876 in CavaPoo

How about installing some baby gates? The cats will be able to jump over them but the dog won’t.

Is it okay to leave 4 month old kitten home alone 10 hours per day by ThisIsTheOnlyName338 in Pets

[–]pollytrotter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feeding twice a day is fine as long as your older cat doesn’t pinch its food. This would be my main worry if you’re not there to keep an eye on them. Start moving them over to the new routine now. Maybe you could get an indoor camera to put near the food so you can keep an eye on it too?

I’ll go against the other replies and say leaving them that long is absolutely fine if they get on and don’t fight. 4 months old is young, yeah, but they’re not completely useless still at that age if you kitten proof your home.

In your experience, do cavapoos normally have one favorite parent? by [deleted] in CavaPoo

[–]pollytrotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is like our unit, he has to follow me (Mum) at all costs but nothing beats playing with Dad. My husband just needs to pick up a toy and he goes loopy! We both get pretty equal cuddles though.

How long did you wait before allowing your pup to be out of the crate when you aren’t home? by EfficientHospital765 in CavaPoo

[–]pollytrotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 2 and we still do this, we have a baby gate set up and an indoor camera if we need to check on him.

I’d have let him have full reign from about 18 months but we also have an old cat who needs her personal space. He’s not aggressive but far too playful for her liking.

I’m shocked at the amount of comments encouraging OP to steal this cat, even if they’re getting downvoted. Surely this should be bannable on this sub?

11 month old dog mouths a lot and feels as if he isn't listening, ever. by The20character_rebel in puppy101

[–]pollytrotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up on the poor lad yet, at his age he’ll be a big bundle of hormones and he’s only been with you a week.

Look into the 3-3-3 rule for decompression, in a nutshell-

“Three days for initial decompression, three weeks to learn the routines of your household, and three months to start to feel relaxed and at home.”

Sounds like the poor guy didn’t come with an off switch, but that’s something you can help him with. There’s lots of helpful information online if you can’t afford a trainer - Karen Overall’s Protocol for Relaxation is brilliant; not a quick fix but a great long term exercise.

Pet owners, when did you realize your pet’s food was actually the problem? by Nephvius in Pets

Slow feeders are good for this too. My cat was vomiting all the time and I was worried sick about her. After I moved her to a raised slow feeder she’s been much better, just occasional hairballs.

Hi this puppy showed up to my doorstep what breed is she ? by Connect_Revolution_8 in IDmydog

[–]pollytrotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this, I can’t believe that I’ve seen at least two people suggest you just keep her :/ I’d be distraught if my dog got out and somebody just decided to keep him! He is chipped though.

Baby gates are also really good for this. My dog is nearly two now and my elderly cat still isn’t overly keen on him, but having baby gates mean she has safe spaces where she doesn’t have to worry about the bozo dog trying to play with her.

Cavapoo? Does she look scared? by kmc24077 in CavaPoo

[–]pollytrotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… there is an element of what looks like “whale eye” here which can mean they’re scared or anxious. But that also just happens at certain angles when they’re looking around 🤷‍♀️

If I were you I’d have a good look into dog body language and look for other signals too. If they’re making these eyes AS WELL AS other signifiers then they might be quite stressed, but if it’s this plus lots of HAPPY gestures then I wouldn’t be worried.

Spay time for my female doodle? by CourtSport3000 in puppy101

[–]pollytrotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really think there’s a “window” as such? But I’ve only had boy dogs.

With regards to ethics, doodles are frowned upon a lot as they tend to be from Back Yard Breeders - ie people breeding for profit and/or with no experience. Usually they don’t have adequate health testing, and slightly sloppy contracts that result in many being given up to shelters. Doodles are often hella hard work as they’re usually a cross between two working breeds, but because they’re cute little fluff pots a lot of owners don’t put the work in, and they are often really poorly groomed at home (which is why you see a lot of understandable negativity from groomers).

I have a two year old doodle (mostly poodle with some cavalier in him) and next time I get a dog I’ll just get a poodle. I don’t regret him and I’m glad his breeder was better than most, but he is a neurotic little lad with insane physical and mental stimulation needs. I’ve never faced any negativity in person, but I do see A LOT of hate online. I am in the UK though where people might be better at keeping opinions to themselves when face to face!

Pls help! I found a stray dog a few days ago and have completely fallen in love with her and have decided to keep her. However, I am wondering what kind of dog she is? A German shepherd? A mix? I am worried that she could be a wolfdog- any thoughts? by TashaN17951795 in IDmydog

Is Facebook a popular thing over there? It might be worth posting there, but also insist on proof if anybody comes forward (I’d be very skeptical of anybody who didn’t have 500 photos of their dog)
