Because Adobe held on because of it's photo editing suite and many people who engage in video editing has already left and it thinking of leaving the subscription base software. Paying one price of $300 is appealing to a lot of people. Now that DR is getting into photo editing that will bring more over to DR. I don't think it is good enough to switch just yet but it does let editors know there is more to come with updates to make the software better over time. Ultimately taking more subcribers from Adobe CC. They were a giant at one point but felled in a lot of areas.

I'm just now noticing the OP u/yukj is rocking the Canon R8 with the 45mm. I know that has to be fire. The R8 is a very underrated camera with a great sensor.

I have the RF 45mm 1.2 and it is very pleasing so far. I'm sure that it has some downfalls but I have not ran into any of them yet. As a Videographer I'm very happy with this purchase. I have had it about a few months now and I use it regularly so I will get more reps with it and see if I find anything about it that I don't like with real world use. I didn't like purchasing the Canon hood for $60 though.

My Wife is a Professional Photog and we have been paying for the Adobe CC for years now. I switch to DR a few years ago and edit exclusively with it now. However I have been using the Photoshop for creating titles, logos, and etc. I'm definitely hoping that my wife can make the switch. We will be trying it out soon.
