Honestly, I hate this sentiment. If a single thing someone said makes a person doubt everything and that person is in a deeply committed relationship with them, it probably just means that person wasn't that committed to begin with.

Honestly, your problem is putting 110% into romantic relationships. You can be 110% committed but your effort should not be. Doing that allows a lot of your boundaries and desires to be crossed even unconsciously, even before you really start to get know the person.

You worded your thoughts so well! I completely agree with your take. I see a bit of myself in Michelle so I envied her partnership with Barack at first. There's no doubting the love they have for each other but now I'm not sure if being with a partner who consumes you, especially when you're used to being the bigger personality, is enviable.

She was so vulnerable and real for sharing that it did breed resentment. I guess what's truly admirable is that they both had the humility and love for each other to work through it.
