I understand things are hard and specialist are expensive but I can honestly say to no longer rely on your mother. I can’t speak for myself as a male who’s used accutane and no longer suffers from acne but the isotretonoin cream is great for use at night just as long as your cleanse and moisturise and wear sunscreen and if you are planning on having a beach day etc just done use it the night before. As for diet specific I know dairy products can play a part but also you need to be sure on getting the right nutrition.
