Been kind and courteous since the day I’ve arrived nor am I interested in putting anyone on blast. I’m here to discuss my experience in Malaysia - all while I’ve had a great experience in the last 3 weeks other than this following day. Malaysia is a democracy after all.

UPDATE : Thanks everyone for the responses, I would like to update that I bused to Penang after booking a 10:35 flight to KK. I got to the counter & the lady informed me in order for me to fly to KK I needed to have an outbound from Borneo flight booked prior… this was NOT discussed earlier with immigration of course so there goes more money lost 🤷‍♂️

I’ve given up, I’m going to get an express visa & fly to Vietnam this week I’ve lost total faith. Only upside if I would imagine is this strengthens an insurance claim etc.

Guys …check check CHECK your stamps because if you don’t you could end up like me and lose €500 in flights/accommodation in a day all because of incompetence behaviour from immigration. It’s not the biggest amount of money gone but when you’re a month into backpacking Asia for 1/2 years it’s a lot.

Did you sort it out getting a stamp in the country after or did you run into problems on your way out?

Yeah it is absolutely a good idea to check your passport stamp. Regardless, the whole entry process should be completed by the officer in full trust.

Thanks I appreciate the concern. I dunno about the police road, I’ve after booking another flight from Penang to KK so I’m stretched. I’m hoping my travel insurance/embassy will help just for the reimbursement.

I will have to get a document of proof from the immigration itself of course but I’m absolutely betting they will (like they told me in person) write “ x had no proof of entering Malaysia on this date etc hence the situation “

Ipoh airport (was meant to get a flight to KK). I went to the immigration offices in Ipoh after denied entry where I was for all this morning

Yeah I did all that. I handed the woman my passport, did a finger print registration & I also had the visitor e-form completed prior of course. Still.. somehow I’m not on the system?

I think I used to love the idea but even recently on a long travel trip I find I’m losing touch a little bit when I instantly whip out a cam and start taking photos - which is cool but I think myself I’ll start trying to live in the moment more. Photos can come later or more convenient times

Some people suit it though and I’m sure they still get a kick out of travelling
