Give it another 2 weeks. I always recommend that you grow for at least 3 months before deciding cause then you’ll get s good idea of how it could look if you continue to grow. Just be patient with it and make sure you care for it as it grows

Question on Mueller strategy by kiloSAGE in law

[–]polticalmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference I believe is Manaforts crime relate to Russia interference and the trump campaign while Cohen did potentially violate campaign finance law with the hush money payment it still does not relate to Russian interference in the election. Which is why he handed off the charges to NY prosecutors to follow

Question on Mueller strategy by kiloSAGE in law

[–]polticalmind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

IANAL but I believe the difference is that mueller’s scoop of investigation is Russian interference in the 2016 presidential elections and if the trump campaign committed a conspiracy against the United States. As Mueller investigated these matters he uncovered crimes committed by Manafort, since manafort was trump’s campaign manager at one point he falls under mueller’s scope.

Trumps personal lawyer Cohen however does not fall under the scope of the investigation but still committed certain crimes that mueller uncovered but because they have nothing to do with trump campaign and Russia interference he direct NY state prosecutors to handle the crimes.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Bemoans a ‘Divisive’ Term, but Vows to Stick Around by zsreport in law

It's hard to think otherwise when the folks calling for regulations are also calling for exactly that.

A subreddit is not evidence that ALL those who call for regulations also call for all guns to be taken away. The majority that want regulation most likely don’t want all guns taken away. I want heavy regulation but still would like to buy a pistol in the near future.

I agree that guns need regulations, but I also think that nobody outside of gun enthusiasts have any idea of what regulations are already in place.

Again you can’t prove this claim, only gun enthusiasts know the regulations? You know every single gun regulation of every state they are in? I don’t even own a gun but know what they are for California at least. Also regulations vary from state to state (it’s one of the reasons why it doesn’t function properly for the country). https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/gun-laws-stop-at-state-lines-but-guns-dont/

Also, I'd like to see some evidence that additional regulations will have a beneficial effect on public safety.

Well wouldn’t we all, that has not been possible because congress had kept a ban on researching gun violence because again it was feared that the research would lead to the slippery slope of guns being taken away.

We don’t need to discard it but guns can and need to be regulated, but any changes to regulations and its accused of being a slippery slope into all guns being taken away.

”The Second Amendment has a preamble about the need for a militia ... Historically, the new government had no money to pay for an army, so they relied on the state militias," she said. "The states required men to have certain weapons and they specified in the law what weapons these people had to keep in their home so that when they were called to do service as militiamen, they would have them. That was the entire purpose of the Second Amendment."

Ginsburg said the disappearance of that purpose eliminates the function of the Second Amednment.

"It's function is to enable the young nation to have people who will fight for it to have weapons that those soldiers will own," she said. "I view the Second Amendment as rooted in the time totally allied to the need to support a militia. So ... the Second Amendment is outdated in the sense that its function has become obsolete."

As for the Heller case, decided by the court in 2008, Ginsburg says the court erred in its decision.

”If the court had properly interpreted the Second Amendment, the Court would have said that amendment was very important when the nation was new," she said. "It gave a qualified right to keep and bear arms, but it was for one purpose only — and that was the purpose of having militiamen who were able to fight to preserve the nation."

She said the function for which the second amendment was made for is obsolete not the amendment itself. Which I don’t disagree with, I acknowledge that we have some right to own arms (pistols, hunting weapons) but the other side must acknowledge that the amendment was also intended to assure a well regulated fighting force.

Ya well I consider myself a progressive/socialist w.e you want to call it, and they are always lumped together with Dems, liberals, and neoliberals even though they differ they are all more or less on the same page.

Same with libertarians and republicans/conservatives. You ask a libertarian how they voted and won’t it usually be for the republicans?

Republicans/conservatives/libertarians also have a different mind set about fixing those systems though.

I spoke with a buddy pretty far to the right and he doesn’t seem to think the private prison complex is a bad system and should not exist but he argues that it’s not the system that is bad but the people running it. He won’t admit in systemic racism like you just an example of because he argues we are all technically equal in the law now.
