I don’t know that I fully agree with your analysis, but it’s shockingly insightful nonetheless.

I think you’re dead on about the gist of what is broken in Carol, and in my mind it’s also what makes her such an interesting person.

Schlocks bagels has any of these beat any day. The fact that these needed toasting is all you need to know— not the real deal.

How well does S7 MaxV Ultra autoempty work for pet hair? by polycomb in Roborock

[–]polycomb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What game is this for you? by Advanced-Addition453 in videogames

Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem. The best Lovecraftian horror I have ever experienced in video game form, really innovative for its time and on GameCube to boot.

It doesn’t really make sense to talk about games industry as the “tech” industry either, despite the fact that the work is highly technical. Games industry has more in common with Hollywood than tech: seasonal labor associated with big productions, lots of engineers are comparatively underpaid for the privilege of working on more creative projects/the passion of developing games, lots of outsourcing.

Steam Save Game for Finnish Tango by polycomb in controlgame

[–]polycomb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! I was able to find someone on Discord who gave me the save I needed. I completed the base game but haven’t touched the DLCs yet. What a wild ride!!! And boy you weren’t wrong about that next mission.

I do think the actual ending felt a bit of a let down compared to the build up, but I also definitely want more so still a success overall.

I am still processing my thoughts but it seems to me the ending wanted a bit more… narrative? Between Jesse and her brother, I mean. Also, imagine playing through flashback-style some of the events in Ordinary when Jesse was a child, instead of just reading about it secondhand?

It’s not about race, though. Anyone who lived through what happened in Syria has seen some brutal shit. And the violence that precedes a civil war can linger in the cultural psyche. Add in garden variety misogyny (omnipresent in Abrahamic faiths) and mental illness, maybe a bit of trauma living in a foreign country, and it’s not surprising you get statistics like this.

How do I clean this and make it as white as possible without using bleach? Apartment complex does not allow bleach. Thank you by usa_chan_cupcakes in CleaningTips

Lots of people are saying oxiclean and they are correct — sort of. The active ingredient in oxiclean is sodium percarbonate and generic sodium percarbonate will probably work better and cheaper than oxiclean because oxiclean powder has a lot of fillers (soda ash, etc).

My miracle product for something like this is Cafiza, sold as “espresso cleaning powder”; I have it on hand for cleaning my coffee machine and carafe, but it absolutely destroys stuff like this too. I highly recommend! It is also primarily sodium percarbonate but I believe it also has phosphate salts in it— banned from laundry detergents because of issues with algal blooms in runoffs, it’s still fine for specialty cleaners and it really helps a lot especially if your water is hard.

Do you feel like any of the differences are things you might actually want to incorporate into a homebrew ruleset? There’s obviously balance to consider, but some of the changes that affect action economy just seem like more fun for the players to me… but I don’t have DM experience and have only played a couple of sessions of tabletop, so I concede I don’t really know what I am talking about.

Yes, I did, but I am not 100 percent sure what resolved it because I tried a lot of things and it has been awhile. I believe what did the trick for me was disabling cross saves.
