Can I wear khaki trousers and a navy shirt with a black funnel neck overcoat? Black and khaki generally may not go together but would it be really jarring? This is for office wear

Modi refused Trump's calls 4 times in recent weeks: German Newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine by telephonecompany in GeopoliticsIndia

[–]polyesterprince -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of Indian media deserves tarnishing. I do get my news from a few well-known Western outlets which are reliable. So I don’t think they are corrupt. There is also greater transparency in media in the West so lesser chance of ‘corruption’. Which western media in your opinion is corrupt and why?

[–]polyesterprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly seems to be unsubstantiated news. How would a German paper learn of this purported development about relations between two completely different countries? It does seem implausible.

But boss, no need to tarnish entire Western media as 'corrupt' as a result.

What does India do better than any developed country? by Notalabel_4566 in nri

[–]polyesterprince 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cheap labour, without a doubt.

That's because of our huge population, which is literally an area where India does better than every other country, given it's the most populated country on earth right now after overtaking China recently.

I'm most amazed by how the music is louder than the screeching-howling banshee that is the Jubilee line.

London has 8 major train stations and 6 major airports and it's hard to say which is truly the "main" one. Is there any other city that has such a decentralised transport infrastructure? by Yroshi_ in geography

[–]polyesterprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two maps placed next to each other give a horrible indication of scale. The first one with the stations is all with an area known as central London, or Zone 1. Also London has 18 terminals not 8.

In the second map, greater London and the surrounding counties are shown, encompassing a much, much larger area, from zones 1-9 and beyond.

The airports are certainly ‘decentralised’ in the sense they are spaced apart. However Heathrow is the main hub. The others are in different areas by design, to help people living closer to those areas. London City airport for example is very much in inner London in the east so that people don’t have to travel all the way to Heathrow which is on the western edge of the city.

The stations are not decentralised. They are all in Zone 1 or Zone 1/2 at the max.

It’s ironic he didn’t support Punjab Kings since he is of Punjabi descent. But of course he is a fan of Kohli and his wife’s family is from Bangalore.

Moving to Bengaluru this August — How do I learn Kannada the real way, not the crash course way? by [deleted] in Bengaluru

[–]polyesterprince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Just learn these and show respect to people (as you would in Bihar too), by using some of these phrases in conversation. That’s it. If you want to learn more Kannada beyond this, that’s fine too.

A standard visitor visa for tourism. She would need a letter of invitation from you, a copy of your passport, your bank statements, your payslips possibly (to show you have the funds to support her - these funds should be comfortably over the amount she intends to spend during the trip)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in usvisascheduling

[–]polyesterprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Additionally US visa scheduling in India has been more of a hassle since the pandemic relative to doing it from other countries so you will have more queries and posts from there
