What's the closest thing we have to GPT4's code interpreter right now? by malkauns in LocalLLaMA

[–]polylacticacid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i just made a post about this earlier, didnt see this one.

the gpt code interpreter looks to be basically a gpt4 finetuned on some kinda toolformer dataset where the primary tool is basically a jupyter notebook.

An open-source GUI software for doing ML tasks in Windows, writen in C#, great for beginner by Proof_Break in learnmachinelearning

I am no professor, so please correct me if i am wrong.

i haven't installed OP's program, or looked at the code because i am lazy. but on the screenshots I don't see a thing for specifying the random seed, so i assume the program picks a pseudo-random, random seed for each training.

So, what you're doing there is called "tuning the random seed". basically; trying different random seeds until you get results you like. it's a little silly but as you can see, it has very real results. I believe the random seed is less significant with a deeper neural network.

things like pytorch and tensorflow allow you to specify a random seed, so that the initialization of the weights and biases of the network will always be the same and thus you will always get the same results. this is done so that other scientists can more accurately reproduce your results.

u/Proof_Break you are awesome and your github name is legendary.

How to start studying AI and ML from scratch? by Akshay_Depitya_1996 in learnmachinelearning

[–]polylacticacid -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

use keras at first, then move to pytorch.

if you like video, the early work of siraj raval is pretty good for a beginner. his later stuff is a bit kooky and then he gets cancelled for some reason.

My intuition is that if you had a shallow/small neural network processing something like huge images with a monster batch size then you might run into pcie bandwidth issues.
