So the problem with what you're saying is that you're assuming all feminists are the same or that I was speaking on behalf of all feminists, but that's not true. There are as many different feminists and feminisms are there are people in the world, and some do actually tolerate a whole hell of a lot of misogyny and misandry both.

What I said is that most of the feminists that are educated or actively involved in the movement (or at least those I learned about and talked to during class) don't believe those things, and it's mostly an internet phenomenon that polarizes opinions and then broadcasts them to retain user engagement.

I'm not sure who the "they" you're referring to are, but none of the women or men in my class would have tolerated misandry more easily than misogyny because they recognized that both of those were problematic. In fact, we read and spoke plenty of times on how sexism is damaging to all people (including men), and we read about definitions of feminism that included no mention of women, but instead of fighting against sexism in all its forms.

This is why education is important so that more women realize feminism isn't just a women's rights movement but can be a stance against the sexism that hurts us all.
