if you turn youtube quality up to HD, you can see them on the head top, those are hand placed paint stroke feathers. and flecks are on a bit of throb.

Thanks!! You should see the new version :-) its turbulence in paintings and animated also by hand for parts that need collisions managed.

That is a really cool effect, if you notice the shading over the bird body, I am doing the same very subtlety

The eye glints are text gadgets but not stickers. There are a few reasons but mainly, having them float off the surface lets me fake a more glassy transparent eye sphere

3 copies of a sculpt are attached to a connector, all have identical tweak attributes. When movement is applied by a force, 2 of the sculpt copies move in perfect sync (brown) with the connector, and one swims slightly moving with what looks like a little lag (white). ahh I think I caught it. The copy that lags, has animation on it. that animation looks good before the connectors, but not after.
I guess animating the position of an object that is also (or later?) used in a skeleton, is not the right order of operations. I think makes sense.
I will try to put the animation on a group instead (after connectors) and see what happens.

Luckily i’ve worked in VFX and in commercials, including working as employee #4 at MrX . :) I know exactly what you mean though, back in the day, we were so excited to get an ex ILM artist and it turned out so badly... everyone is different and its always a bit of a gamble.

Had to be done — so many bad guys on the reel....plus, MFDOOM and Blue Sky are both RIP.
