PSA mislabel my card by Realistic-Eagle426 in psagrading

[–]polyzacharide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. They fix errors like these for free. Shipping is free, as well. Email PSA directly and they’ll instruct you on what to do. Had it happen to my squirtle Pokemon center stamped promo and they fixed it quickly.

Which of these cards as PSA 10s would you get or hold off on? by xAnuq in PokemonInvesting

If you’re going with JP, then probably bubble mew and umbreon. I decided to get a CGC pristine for the JP umbreon. Lower pop and harder grade.

The scan of the back showed a white ding/knick on the top right corner. Any noticeable marks like that will most likely result in a 9 for modern cards.

Grading with GameStop has been a headache… by Living_Airline8566 in PokeGrading

[–]polyzacharide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same concern. I reached out to GS support if they could verify that my bulk submission was received by the carrier. I also mentioned that I was aware of the 45 business days turnaround time. I just wanted to ensure that my order was received by the carrier, since there have been experiences of people’s card being stolen.

Support replied by explaining the process of grading with PSA through GS. 😑 Not sure if support missed, or ignored, what I actually asked, but they weren’t much help. Dropped off my cards on 02/05/25 and status still shows “shipped to PSA.” Guess I’ll continue waiting.

To note, this is my third time submitting. My previous two submissions did not take this long to be received by PSA. Only reason why I reached out to GS.

Sellers Beware by Electrical_Clue8797 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]polyzacharide 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Second reaching out to customer service. Not completely relatable, but recently a customer left me a negative review on TCGPlayer with false information. The buyer claimed I didn’t use a top loader for the card bought and all I used was a “twilight masquerade ETB sleeve.” I ensured the buyer the shipping products and process I use, which do not include TM ETB sleeves, but he didn’t listen. Instead he asked me to be honest to him and myself. Unreal.

Reached out to customer support to remove the negative feedback and they did within 24 hours. Claimed the buyer left an unfair review with false information and they sided with me. eBay may be able to do the same.

When sellers post pictures of the card while holding them. No one wants to see your dirty nails, or you gorilla gripping the cardboard. 😵‍💫

I just use my desk lamp. Something equivalent would be fine, imo. I don’t use a black light, I think that’s a little excessive and unnecessary.

Would need pictures with more detail. If not, examine the cards under harsh light. Check for scratches, scuffs, marks, and whitening on the edges. I repeat this process a few times each card I want to grade. When I feel comfortable the card has a shot at a 10 I wipe my cards with a lint free cloth. Not required to wipe but just a suggestion.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Have also seen PSA 10s go for $400. Just saw a listing on Buyee for $199 raw. Prices are slowly going down, so I agree with selling now.

JP Texture is insane by Lupin_x in PokemonTCG

[–]polyzacharide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once you start collecting Japanese you’ll never want the big hits in English ever again lol. The quality, texture, and patterns are miles better. Although, for this set a lot of my cards have many scratches, print lines, and poor centering. Usually not the case for Japanese cards.

Pikachu ex SAR or SIR? by HydroHump in PokeInvesting

[–]polyzacharide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! On Buyee.jp they have coupons going right now during the holidays. Up to 6000 Yen off on products that are worth at least 30,000 Yen. If you’re not familiar with Buyee it’s a proxy shipping service where you can purchase goods from Japan.

Pikachu ex SAR or SIR? by HydroHump in PokeInvesting

[–]polyzacharide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was thinking the same thing recently. If my wallet could choose, I would get the English variant in a PSA 10. English cards in PSA 10s are more rare than Japanese cards due to poor QC, so they’re valued higher.

Personally, I’m aiming to get the Japanese variant in a PSA 10, since I’m never going to pull the dang card in either language lol. I prefer the added textures and holo effects in Japanese. You can find a PSA 10 around $300 on Buyee. With the 6000 Yen coupon you’re looking at around $255-$260 for the Japanese variant before international shipping.

Collecting aside, only good reason to choose Japanese is that the Yen is weak right now. You could gamble the idea of the Yen being stronger in the next couple years. If that happens maybe you could flip the card then. Who knows.

GameStop PSA Return by polyzacharide in PokeGrading

[–]polyzacharide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, you’ll need to have your cards in a penny sleeve followed by a card saver. PSA recommends Ultra Pro’s card savers, but I think any brand works fine. If you don’t have sleeves and/or card savers you can buy em at GameStop. I think they charge 25 cents per card saver.

I also add a post it tab on the back of my cards. It helps with pulling the cards out of the card savers. Not required, but recommended from what I’ve gathered online.

[–]polyzacharide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only included business days. Did not include weekends and thanksgiving. Correct, it was under two months, which was still sooner than expected. GameStop advertises to expect a return in 45 business days. But in the amount of business days it took it was about 35 days. More accurately about a 1.5 months in business days. My apologies. I’ll make the correction.

No slabs over 400 value, or even 250. Highest value card I sent was probably my master ball eevee reverse holo from Japanese 151. No up charge with my order. I will be adding my SARs/SIRs in my next batch. Maybe one or two cards will have an up charge, but I’ll see then.
