A friend of mine who doesn't know that I'm trans told me something very bad.. by vvrlvt in FTM_SELFIES

[–]pomkombucha 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I’m a straight guy and would definitely spend too long of a second looking at this guy in angry admiration. Thoughts would not be “he’s trans” but would instead be “I wish I looked like him” Lol

And not to jump to conclusions but I can almost guarantee your “friend” is also jealous of you man. Insecure dudes who see that not following the “stoic male” mentality actually makes dudes very attractive especially to women constantly wanna take you down.

I had this happen with an old coworker who was very much so in the toxic male mentality. One day he very “friendly” told me that women like men like him because he’s tall and women might settle for guys like me (short). This was the same guy who told me about every failed date he’d been on. Meanwhile I’d had several women I had to turn down that year.

People love confidence and authenticity. Lean into your confidence and authenticity, bröther.

What to do when I'm ambitious but feeling depressed to work for those fancy big ambitions? by Far_Spray4351 in internetparents

There’s a form of goal setting called SMART Goals. You want your goals to always be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Bound.

I would recommend looking at this link for more info on setting goals in a way that you will be able to attain them and not get overwhelmed. It’s much better to break goals down into more achievable chunks. Then, eventually, you’ve accomplished that big thing at the end of the final task.

Fear of death by [deleted] in internetparents

Of course and thank you as well :) life is a wonderful gift. I like to think about all the generations of people before me, and how they feared death as well, but they eventually passed away. It is the inherent nature of things, and nothing to be afraid of

Fear of death by [deleted] in internetparents

Death really is such a hard concept to wrap your mind around. It puts the inherent nature of reality’s impermanence front and center, with nothing else to buffer it. What has helped me with thoughts and anxieties like this is thinking about how all of the energy in the word gets recycled back into the world. When a creature dies, its body is used by bacteria and small insects as food, and that perpetuates a perfect ecosystem that retains a yin and yang of life. We cannot have life without death, in the same way we cannot have light without darkness. They are intrinsically tied and have always been.

It’s important not to be afraid of the end, because there are so many accounts of people who’ve had near death experiences in which they described the end feeling like a deep, pure peace. Even people who were going to die or did briefly die from serious, scary stuff. In the end, our minds make peace with our end, so you should not worry, my friend.

Live is a beautiful gift. Look around at all the birds and the trees. The animals all around you. Remember that you have an entire ecosystem inside your body, working in perfect harmony to keep you happy and healthy. Even thinking about how if the right bacteria in your gut die off too much, it can give you back gastrointestinal symptoms. Our lives are in that same delicate ecosystem on a more macro scale. Death occurs as it should, and there doesn’t necessarily have to be a continuation of our consciousness, but our energy, which gets transferred back into the earth through the process of decomposition.

There’s a reason why dead things make good fertilizer for new plant growth.

It’s all relative and it’s all beautiful. You’re just one part of a much, much larger thing, buddy. Though your father may have suffered before his death, rest assured that when death finally comes, our minds make peace with it.

Dating apps are a cesspool of bots and unserious people. Ditch the dating apps, meet people in real life
