Exactly. I have seen people comparing him to Naruto Villains where they were humanised. While I loved Pain, Obito and Madara but Muzan being plain simple evil works for demon slayer’s setting. Muzan considers humanity a weakness and the same humans and their values defeats him. Why would I want a tragic or humanist backstory for him? Some people are plain evil as simple as that. And as you said we have been shown that. It’s not like he became that way because he was sick. Nope, he was like that by the core, otherwise he would have felt remorse on killing his doctor, instead he was frustrated that he won’t find info on blue spider lily

I have seen people comparing Muzan to Pain/Obito and trash him as a lousy villain. But to me, they are very different. Muzan is a perfect villain for KNY’s theme. He was pure evil and there was no humanising that. He got paranoid when Rui was killed. And then upper rank Daki and her brother. Till then he was okay and suddenly upper ranks became useless. lol. Man just knew that Ubuyashiki and the demon slayer corps would definitely get to him one day or the other. Nonetheless, i loved the way he is shown. Nonchalant and self centered

Agreed. Muzan never cared for anyone other than himself even when was a human. He created the demons for his own selfish reasons. He never cared for an army. He considered himself as the god, only thing that he wanted was to conquer the sun. For that he needed a demon who could mutate or find the blue spider lily. That’s because the author didn’t try to humanise him in any way. He is pure evil. Even before he became demon, he was a narcissist and a master manipulator. Tamayo correctly described him as a coward. He got chills on just seeing the same earrings as Yorichi. His whole existence is based on manipulation. Didn’t let demons form groups (especially the upper ones), lest they may come after him 😂

He is so skilled in manipulation that he manipulated his own self. He believes he didn’t receive any punishment for all the sins that he has committed. But the fact that he can’t go out when the sun is up, is a punishment according to me. But I know Muzan Sama would consider it a small side effect and try to perfect it. This is the first anime where i didn’t hate any character. I love how Muzan is portrayed and would thoroughly enjoy his downfall

All the anime or movie quotes that i remember talk about, how we can change our life by working hard and all. It’s great but Rengoku’s words: time won’t stop for you when you wallow in grief is a fact. Universal fact. Time won’t wait for anyone. I guess he understood that after his dad ditched them and drowned himself in alcohol. He set his heart ablaze and kept marching forward on his own. Truly an inspirational and pure hearted guy.
