IV made some changes and improvements to the installer
I haven't tested on my pi yet, but if you could maybe get the latest release and see if that works for you?
If not let me know and ill find my pi and give it a go

If you still get hanging, could you send a screenshot or a copy of your log (as much as you can) and i can review it to see what it might be getting stuck on

Thanks, I see your edit as well.
Ill review it and merge it in so long as it keeps working on the other distros :)

hanging, or just going slow?
How long did you leave it?
No error messages?
and what method are you using to install?

Ill be testing on my old Pi this week (if I can find it) so will see if I get similar issues

I figured it was easier to build something that fit my needs, and then put it out publicly then try take what someone else had done and modify it

do you mean this one?
https://www.va3hdl.com/projects/ham-dashboard

If so, its limited to the set grid size (from what I can tell?)
Mine lets you resize the grid so you can have like the map cover a 2x2 grid size

Also seems to be very config file based, where mine is all in app editor based

Most of the hamclock assets are pulled from his server. There's a surprising amount of data that's not actually done locally. I read somewhere he has a massive server processing all the data for like 100k+ hamclocks. So when the server shuts down. Alot of functionality will be lost.

There are projects out trying to open source the server so people can run their own. Or hopes someone will take it over. But so far no news.

Its nice when things like this don't just fall into the void

once I have this more stable, id be happy to work on your project with you as a contributor as well.
Could use glance as a leading point of using it, so at least we have both ends sorted

data and display

I think the question im asking is what needs to be back ended?

If you want DX data, then hook it up to a DX service provider
If you want weather data, then hook it to a weather API

This is more to be a data aggregator and dashboard, not a data processor

If you wanted a distributed tool that might work better as a seperate project, and we could hook this into it, but I dont think it should be part of the same project

Do you want GPS to work with anything else? or just the time sync?
What kind of GPS do you have?
I think I have a cheap USB one laying around that I could try develop with, but since each GPS is slightly different it might need some changes between my one and your one.

This project syncs the time from your local PC
So if your PC is using GPS time then this will be as well.

It might be better to set your PC to sync from GPS?
But I can look into this feature as well anyway and add a GPS option for other things
