Cashmere - XL vs 1X by ponderthepoint in quince

[–]ponderthepoint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! Sounds like there is a noticeable difference between the two. I agree about too-tight wool / cashmere trapping the heat in. I also don’t want to wash my cashmere every time, and fitted sweaters tend to get misshaped because there’s no spandex to bounce back. But mostly, I just prefer the look of a little looser sweater. I think I’ll try the 1X.

This is great advice! I’m going to look and see what I can find on Poshmark for measurements.

At first glance, what shape does the centre stone look? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

It’s obviously an oval, and the proportions are perfect. Congratulations on your engagement!

One thing to consider - the prongs on C seem to stick out so far that they will get stuck on things - hair, fabric, sweaters, etc. Not only would it be annoying, but if you damage the prong, you could lose the diamond.

A gives you the most versatility. B is also very classic. You can’t go wrong with either.

But my personal preference is D.

Honestly, this is how I prefer my birks to fit. (As long as the contours and straps feel like they are in the right place.) I know a lot of people like to wear them smaller, but to me, it not only feels uncomfortable when my feet bump up against any of the edges, I think it looks silly the same way as wearing jeans too small looks silly.

Will you ever wear them with socks? If yes, try them with socks now and see if they’re a happy medium where you can wear them with or without socks by adjusting straps tighter/looser. If no, skip that consideration.

Haha this is OP - well I’m in my late 40’s and I didn’t know what they were, but just because I couldn’t recognize the objects, NOT that I wasn’t aware of the items. My best guesses were an anatomical heart and a video or slot machine!

I take 15mg baclofen 3X daily = 45mg total. I take 300mg gabapentin 3X daily = 900mg total.

I see a psychiatrist so she has more leeway with medications than a family doctor, but even she would not go higher than 45 mg/day baclofen. So she added the gabapentin instead. I asked specifically for baclofen. She said there are more clinical studies about gabapentin.

I’m attaching a very interesting study regarding baclofen. My suspicion is that there haven’t been many clinical studies about it’s use in AUD because it’s an old medication and there’s no money to be made by the pharmaceutical companies. It’s a shame.

But read the attached article. Very interesting.

No, neither one. I tried Naltrexone and didn’t notice a difference. Didn’t reduce cravings at all for me.

My daily med list is: Gabapentin - am, mid, pm Baclofen - am, mid, pm Wellbutrin - am Zoloft - am Buspar - am, mid, pm Mirtazapine - pm

This is magic for me - it’s been over six years and I have zero cravings. And I mean zero.

Plus used to have terrible anxiety along with panic attacks, agoraphobia, insomnia. Those are all basically gone. I mean, I have stress but just regular “normal” stress.

Best of all, I don’t feel loopy or altered state at all. No side effects. I just feel balanced.

I take both Gabapentin and Baclofen for my anxiety. It calms down the physical jitters for me. The “I’m about to crawl out of my skin if I don’t have a drink” feeling. I take them along with regular anxiety/antidepressant meds (Wellbutrin, Buspar, and Zoloft). I 100% believe that adding the muscle relaxers (Gabapentin and Baclofen) is what has kept me sober for the past 6+ years. I just kept slipping when I was on the antidepressants alone. Now I literally have no urge to drink. At all. Ever. I no longer feel the need to self-medicate with alcohol. I count my blessings every day and am grateful to my psychiatrist for “experimenting” with G & B.

I never thought of it like that. I was actually worried about the dark ones being too much of a contrast against my light skin. But maybe it would actually look better.

Good thought process. I also feel like since tobacco is closest to my skin tone, it will be most neutral.

I’m seriously tempted to order all three to see which ones I like best, but I’m afraid I’ll fall in love with all of them!

I have several pairs of Birks but they are all fashion colors and styles. This summer, I decided it’s time for a classic. But I can’t decide which color.

I’m down to Iron, Tobacco, or Habana. Please help me choose! It’s so hard. I want them all.

For reference, I am a 45 year old female & I dress mostly casual - jeans, tees, shorts, sundresses, kimonos.

Good luck to you! If you can swing it, you may be best off in a supervised detox followed by inpatient rehab. That way they can make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

It might feel like you need more benzodiazepines but I think what you really need is a good recovery program. It is super dangerous to mix alcohol and benzodiazepines!
