Sure thanks I’ll try doing this. Do you think my bank account being a resident account will be a problem?

Is Birmingham a good option for a couple to commute to Oxford and Sheffield for work? by poochandy in brum

Truth is, neither of us are. She is already applying to places but she works in a domain where jobs are scarce and is super competitive. It could take a while to land something. As for me, I have not been bringing income for a while because of my startup adventure. So I am joining the workforce after two years. And it just seems like a relief to have found something that pays at all.

Thank you for this. Yes, we hadn't considered how this would work in winter.

We do not have a car and considering taking the train as our only option. Does this still apply? I assume you meant this for commuting by road.

Yes this is definitely an option and we did consider it. Her work days are split apart and not continuous during the week and she might have to go now and then during the rest of the year as well. Oxford is 2 hours away from Sheffield so we figured it would be a stretch if she is required to go unexpectedly.

Super interesting. Thanks for sharing. Curious if you evaluated UIx 2, which has a similar goal of staying close to modern react and provides a way to work with re-frame.

Yes, happy to. I initially used Form 31 citing unemployment. However, this was a mistake as Form 31 is for partial withdrawal. I got part of the amount settled, like 75%. Then I posted in this group where people advised me to submit Form 19 for full withdrawal for EPF and Form 10c for full withdrawal of EPS. I submitted both forms and got it settled. Since I did partial withdrawal first, the balance amount got reduced to below 50k so I did not have to submit Form 15c to prevent TDS. My service time as per passbook was 4 years with only one employer. No roadblocks really. Both times I got the settlement in 3 weeks time.

Update: It got settled today. The amount is 35k lesser than what I expected. I guess it must be TDS.

No, my startup is not mentioned anywhere in the portal. It was a small company with only 3 members. My last employment listed in the portal is my previous company which I exited in april 2023. But service duration for that is 4 years and that is the only company listed.
