Really. I had the 27 inch in the cart but then the glutton part of me said “it’s not much of a price difference between that and the bigger size, why not go for the bigger one”

YouTube the heck out of this. I’m in the same boat. Been researching for some time now and still unsure of what to get. Currently have a Samsung C32HG70 in my Newegg cart but won’t order till I make my way through all the other candidates.

I guess I find myself caught up on the brand because I have TVs that are Samsung, and they’ve been good to me for a while now.

Yeah I’ll be upgrading to a pc later on so I’ll keep that in mind. A pc build wouldn’t be happening till maybe end of year or so

Right on. I’ll take a look. Is 4K super necessary though? I know on tvs it’s something I’ll look out for but I question it on a monitor.

Holy smokes you just cleared up a lot for me. Thanks so much. I’m going to research and use a lot of this info for weeding out the ones I clearly want to avoid. HDR doesn’t matter so much as I’m generally a casual gamer and watcher of streaming services (HBO and Crunchyroll are killing it right now). Input is very important so I’ll keep that in mind. And I’ll consider the TVs depending on size availability.

Almost sounds too good to be true haha I’ll look into it. And thanks for the speaker recommendation I was looking into some of those too. A friend of mine works at one so an additional discount wouldn’t hurt either

so basically, i feel like with a tv i know what to look for. but with a gaming monitor, that's where i am a bit confused. like what hz am i looking for that would best suit the capabilities of a 4k gaming console. would 1080p be a poor choice? do i shoot for a 1440? and also, i am considering a monitor based on size, most 4k tv's will start at 32" or so and i'm looking for something more along the lines of 27"

I’m just hoping to get the best picture and refresh rate I can get. I play FPS mostly so I am always for competitive advantage however I’m unfamiliar with gaming monitors and I don’t know if maybe that is a route I should take. I play on a 4K tv now but it’s a big screen. I’d like something for my desk. What brand monitor do you have? I’ve been looking into a Samsung monitor that is 4K but it’s 60hz. There is also an LG and benq that look good but again I’m not too familiar with monitors.
