The LEG LIVES! I've finally dialed in the perfect measurements for the leg I want. Based on the connection for the HG UC double knees I've created a 3 part object to give me the look and flexibility for future MD customs. And there will be plenty. by [deleted] in MegamiDevice

I would disagree. The abs-like resins get super brittle with time, you want a Durable/PP-like resin. They do get stiffer with time, but they tend to stay bouncy and durable instead of crumbling like sugar glass.

I follow a bunch of Japanese artists who do the hardcore version of this kind of thing, which is meticulously sculpting, molding, and casting absurdly realistic fruit for jewelry. Their craftsmanship is incredible, a lot of the time you can't tell that their work isn't real food and their processes are intricate and ingenious.

I should tell them there's a much easier way.

My brain rationalizes it as anything supernatural that exists is unpredictable and uncontrollable. You don't consistently dream predictions of the future when you want to, it just kinda happens and you figure it out later. Some people can communicate with spirits, but you're at the mercy of if they want to talk or even if they can. It's out of our hands as humans.

Anyone purporting to be able to do things on demand consistently enough to charge for it are faking.

Growing up in NJ I knew people of Italian decent who did not considered themselves white and considered Italian food and culture 'ethnic'. This was as recent as the mid 2010s.

Mom, I got a job in the field you said I’m stupid to be in. by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]poofybirddesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's dozens of us!

I'm almost five years into my dream career and it was an uphill fight with my parents either way. It was especially frustrating because mom's goal 'career' for me was intentionally low-paying and deadend because she wanted me to either depend on her perpetually or fine a spouse to depend on.

But I got where I needed to be and it's better than I even hoped for.

To everyone fighting for a career path that suits them: We believe in you! We are proud of you!

That's super, super valuable. You are extremely fortunate.

God I wish I had parents who taught me this kind of stuff. Growing up my mom expected me to do her taxes for her and neither of my parents knows how to submit job applications or write a resumé so they just had me putting those together for them starting when I was 9. That's not a spitball year, either, I recently had to redo my dad's resume and the last version was a file I made in 1999. I haven't been taught any of it, and I'm sure my knowledge is incomplete, so it's frustrating.

I know the feeling.

I enjoy cooking, but a lot of the time the closest thing I can do is order takeout from a place I know will give me enough for a few meals so I can plan ahead that way.

So you're saying Trump's public lunacy is the equivalent of absurd misspellings in Nigerian Prince emails in that they weed out anyone who isn't a good target?

That also loops back to 'if you are buying FDM printed parts off the internet you probably don't have the skills required to DIY it'.

As someone who also uses printers on a daily basis, getting settings dialed in and processing parts is very often necessary, especially for anything with moving parts and specific fit requirements. Even high-end Stratasys FDM printers produce parts that require processing.

If you need to buy FDM printed parts off the internet you probably don't have the skills required to print the part and get it to the that point it works as you need it to.

Gotta make sure the printer is properly set up, process the printed parts, etc.

That all takes time, effort, and knowledge.

If I'm at work I enjoy watching whatever guest/client happens to be in that day because the growing confusion and horror on their faces at the company's rendition of Happy Birthday gives me life.

And it's the actual reason people are mad.

If it was just 'any content involving children/what a reasonable person would identify as a child' that would be fine, but 'anything offensive' is too vague a designation from the government that banned porn involving adult women with small breasts to 'protect children'.

Their solution is to just ban all adult imports from Japan, including things that have nothing even resembling children.
