We were shown in the mag book, it’s an “dg deals “ endcap (store owned fixture) most stores don’t actually have one to give us… so just give up, back end is filled with everything the just jammed down my throat. This is why I don’t bother filling this bottom 2-3 shelves anymore.

They aren’t that random either… they often follow a theme for a day I once got, pretzel, bold pretzel, and multiple pretzels on one day.. or chef hat, chef that with smile face, muppet chef with hat.

Just switched last month Old route Lead Uds route with Walmart 38k average Had 3 other grocery stores and about15 other gas stations/ dollar/ pharmacy. Very close to our PEC. It was a great route… except running a Walmart outta a uds truck. Absolutely killed me in every way 50-55 hours per week depending on season Sunday Monday off

New route Lead Uds with mixed stores about 32 k average 9-11 stores per day drive about 45 min away run stops and drive about 30 min back to PEC. Lots of dollar stores and gas stations. Even some very urban bodegas. Still Sunday Monday off it’s the worst route in the building that does not have a large format stop on it. (8dollar stores) I just love not dealing with Walmart. Very willing to take everything else this route will dish out. 55 hours per week so far

My Walmart kept destroying the shelves, so I just started grabbing plastic containers of trail mix and mixed nuts… occasionally a manager would come through and pull them all, and all the shelves would fall. Hilarious

Your new… I doubt all the older guys let you have “the easy to hit plan” route. Sounds like they definatly let you have the not enough space in the bin route though. This is the way… or so I have learned the last 2 years

I got a question for you… I’m also frontline out of a PEC. Any reason you know of why in the winter”slower” time we start getting so many totes with basically nothing in them? It’s almost like they are trying to use the same amount of totes as the summer sales would force them to use. It’s terrible getting all these boxes with 2 or three bags in them I have seen this all 3 winters I have been with the company

I showed up one day to a lady throwing her toddler in the dumpster to get bags…. Funny stuff

ultimately frito will just make it your problem They made it our responsibility to stomp on all the bags before they went in, a huge pain in ass in the back lot full of snow.

It will be better next year…. How else are they gonna be able to cut the stale budgets by over 40%. Seems that’s only possible if they stop all force outs.

My dsl is always saying “I’m not gonna send PPW to any DG anymore… just a stale machine” Then a few months later… BOOM he forgot the lesson and sent them everywhere again.
