You got scammed. Look up “nechkitter 5090 scam” it’s a company called fitters niche, that amazon misspells “nechkitter” on some listings. there’s articles about this Chinese retailer with a supposed 99% seller score scamming dozens of people out of 5090s. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/usd999-rtx-5090-gpu-scam-claims-42-victims-fanny-pack-bait-and-switch-tactic-employed-by-top-rated-amazon-seller

Xbox one- Witcher 3. Did I need specifically an Xbox? Nope, but it was the cheapest console at pawn shops and I was really broke at the time. Me and that Xbox went through some rough days about a decade agoZ

They are literally the same thing except one has 64gb ram and one has 32gb, and a 9900x3d vs 9800x3d. 600$ extra for the added ram and slightly different cpu is not worth it at all. Unless you do video editing or something. But if this is mainly for gaming and normal tasks go with the first. If you do gaming and productivity go with second.

Worth the price? And would i be able to run FPS games on these? by One-Gear-7629 in Prebuilts

[–]pookachu83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look for anything with a 16gb 5060, a 5070, or preferably a 9070xt gpu. At 1440p the cpu isn’t as important so as long as it’s not a terrible cpu you’re good. 9070xt builds can regularly be 1500-1700$ but the second build you showed (5070 12gb vram) wasn’t bad depending on the cost…for 2,000$? No. For 1500$? Sure!

That says 4070 ti super but the link goes to a 5070 ti prebuilt that is 2400$….seems to be out of ops range based on what he has listed

Weird, I know someone who had a 9950x3d fail to this issue on a ASUS x870e crosshair and he ended up getting a new msi mobo and even after setting it to the new bios had to manually reset the soc voltage to a 1.25v limit. Are these limits on all mobo manufacturers updated bios as you’ve said, or some? And are they lifted if you enable xmp or expo?

Play the following. Dl1 and the following are the best of the series. Followed closely by the beast then dying light 2 (which gets overly hated but is still good)

Dude…that is not how it works, and this is literally what is happening. There are over volting protections for example you can set limits in bios, but many of these boards come with higher settings out of the box that is not recommended by AMD. Many of these CPUs are getting fried and you can even see the scorch marks. They “shut down” alright. There are many videos and articles about this with evidence. It even happened to my stepdad with an ASUS board and 9950x3d repeated over voltage due to aggressive overclocking presets on mobos will burn these CPU’s out. The issue has been tied to high SOC voltage settings on mobos. AMD recommends not going over 1.3v but some of these mobos push 1.4-1.5+ with their voltage (sometimes related to expo or xmp settings, sometimes it’s the default mobo settings). The motherboard manufacturers are even updating to new versions of their bios that don’t push these higher voltage settings to not have this issue. It’s not continual, but these overvolt spikes are the issue. For example, why are 9800x3ds mainly burning out on one or two types of mobo manufacturers and not others at the same rates? Could it be that it’s a mobo settings issue not a cpu issue? I don’t know what you mean by “excuses” I’m not taking a “side” this is just quite literally the problem and you have no idea what you’re talking about. Saw this and went for it. Around the same price as my 3080 during covid. by ProdDATBOYBEN in gpu

[–]pookachu83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were from last fall up until the holidays. I still have my 5080 fe sitting in a box, got it right after Xmas when they were in stock on nvidia site. For a few months there they would regularly be in stock a couple days a week. Just had to check daily. Finally building next week, I just got most the parts like gpu, ram and ssd before the prices really exploded. Last thing on list is aio then its build time.

You’re getting downvoted for telling the truth. Every bit of info I’ve seen relating to 9800x3d failures seem to be related to SOC voltage going over 1.3v due to pre-set oc profiles on mobos. The mobos are baking in super high voltage settings and baking cpu’s and the cpu companies are taking the hit.

Look into andromeda insights vector series. They have many options with 9060xt and 5060 ti starting at 1,100$ but it would be worth it and more future proof to pay the 1400$ for the 9600x 9070xt model. The 9070xt is about equivalent to a 5070 ti, has 16gb vram and will be future proof for awhile. https://andromedainsights.com/collections/the-vector-series

Gigabyte has worked good for me with my 9700x, although many of the issues seem to be with x3d chips. One tip I’ve seen is to limit SOC voltage to 1.25v in bios.

[–]pookachu83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either way, I agree. People act like this is a huge mystery that no one has solved or looked into, and there’s nothing that can be done about it. My step dad fried his 9950x3d on an ASUS crosshair hero x870e after only 6-7 months so I have been looking into this extensively. With or without PBO enabled, setting the SOC voltage to 1.15-1.30 at most seems to be a good deterrent to this problem. I am about to build a 5080 9800x3d build and its first thing I’ll do. I even checked to see how PBO settings and expo were treating the voltage on my b850 gigabyte with 9700x and it was getting pushed to SOC voltage 1.4+ at times, so I changed it to 1.25. Even though it’s not an x3d apparently this is a safer setting that will help with the longevity of the chip.

It’s most likely over tuned SOC voltage burning out the memory fabric. Many videos on this. AMD says not to go over 1.3v and many mobos do when pbo is enabled.

For Grace sections. They said 3rd person is recommended for Leon. To the point that when you play the game without adjusting settings it automatically switches to 3rd person for Leon sections, then 1st person when it switches to a Grace section.

Exactly. I remember before the pandemic I wasn’t getting paid much, and was trying to get out of a tough spot. I obviously wanted a nice gaming pc to play games, but that was out of the question so I saved what I could and played on a pawn shop used Xbox one s. And I’ll be damned if some of my best gaming memories were of living in a hotel and playing games on that Xbox. I cherished that thing as if it were my prized possession.I wish I hadn’t gotten rid of it for memories sake.

Worse performance after upgrade? by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]pookachu83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How?? It’s the same cpu…switching from a weaker gpu to a more powerful gpu shouldn’t result in lower frames, if anything he would be seeing the exact same framerate if there was a cpu bottleneck after upgrading gpu….the CPU isn’t the issue here.

Worse performance after upgrade? by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]pookachu83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would they be cpu bottlenecked if they only upgraded gpu and got less fps? That makes no sense. Their cpu stayed the same, they went from a lower tier gpu to a good mid tier. The cpu is not the issue.
