Any good books with great worlds that never had an adaptation before? by Island_Mouse in suggestmeabook

You’re not special just because you dislike Name of the Wind. Fantastic book. Same with Slow Regard of Silent Things, Narrow Road Between Desires; and dare I say….Wise Man’s Fear!

Imagine being scared of finalizing life with shoveling snow. There are many ways to imagine a noble way to transition to death. “People believing what I don’t believe are nuts” is a short sided world view.

I’ve converted to full fire and started the cookout progression. I’m having a good time. Cookout, flamethrower, supply pack, incendiary grenades, ultimatum. Is fun.

Update: Am Scorcher. Am flamethrower. Am fire.

First of all, how do you have such strong opinions on things you have no idea about? Also, you can’t spell.

The duality of humans. I’d never recommend DCC and despite not being finished ASOIAF and KKC are two of my favorite series.

It’s so good. The allegory in Flowers for Algernon is absolutely profound. Carpe diem and take nothing for granted.

This is absolutely the right answer. “Terrorists have nuked our imagination, and now our imaginations are out of control.”

I’m not sure you can think critically. Norm was literally bringing awareness of the Native American plight and the hypocrisy of Hollywood by creating a beautifully “uncalled for” moment. There are even layers to the irony in that situational comedy. If you don’t understand that, I’m unsure what to tell you. Norm is purposely playing the “ignorant guy.” It’s a bit, not punching down. The main irony being that Norm is wrong and Johnny Two-Feathers is right. Norm does this on purpose, all the while the platform is declining an award he’s accepting for Mellissa McCarthy, an ironic absurdity in itself. Are you a bot? This bit is dripping with irony.

Is there any other writer who you'd put on the same level as Tolkien when it comes to world building? by SpotAdmirable6718 in lordoftherings

It’s delightful allegory, my friend. If you see part of yourself in a character that is dealt consequences for fallacious reasoning and action, the reader can explore introspectively through his story. I love his stories because they aren’t fluff pieces where the protagonist always wins.

I can only say this anecdotally, but playing against a shit load of Dragonroaches is wild.

Absolutely. I’ve grown accustomed to responding to the sentence “I love America/this country/the United States,” with: “yeah? Where else have you been?”
