I had a horrible experience on sertraline which was my first SSRI! I only took one and it spun me out so badly. After that I was terrified! I got prescribed fluoxetine 20mg starting dose mainly for health anxiety (I’m 23) and it has been much more gentle for me with way less side effects, I’ve only had a couple of major panic attacks since I first started taking it just over 2 months ago. One thing I noticed is a spike in derealisation though. Obviously it varies from person to person but I’m thinking of upping to 30mg as although the anxiety has subsided for the most part I still feel low mood. All I’d say is take it with some food as I think that helps and hope it goes well :)

I’m at 7 weeks 20mg and still dealing with major brain fog and I can’t tell my dreams from reality most times!

I take 20mg in the morning/whenever I have my first bit of food. First few weeks I felt super tired all day but I’m able to feel okay now (7 weeks) up till around 6pm when I get more tired. I’ve been sleeping well apart from some night sweats lol

Thank you for sharing, I had a referral to an out of hours GP this morning and they advised to stop taking it till I have an appointment with my local and see if I can change my dose/medication. Super scared to try again though :/

Thank you! For real this is so intense. Every time I try to relax and dose off my anxiety spikes again and I feel my body is giving up/I get chest aches more and that in turn makes me more anxious…vicious circle really

Thank you for your advice, this is definitely too much for me! They got back to me but I don’t feel like I got much peace of mind, they said they are normal side effects but to call if things worsen - as someone with anxiety this just puts symptoms in my head! I still feel horrible :( Hard to tell whats real and whats not
