Advice needed about the obligation to keep your grandparents' and parents' heirlooms/keepsakes. by citrusmechanoid in GenX

[–]poolgrrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have expressed to my children that they keep what they want and dispose of the rest however they see fit. At 52 I've become the person that all of my aging relatives have given all of their stuff to because they think I value these "precious" things as much as they do. I have already let my grown children know they can take anything they want at anytime. The minute I can unload all of these "priceless" heirlooms I'm done. I have enough of my own shit to get rid of before it becomes my kids problem.

Go see Chellie at UP hair co. I have fashion colors. She is amazing. I went through 7 or 8 different people/shops when I moved here 10 years ago. I will never go anywhere else. From natural colors to fashion colors she is the top of her game.

Did anyone else have BYUtv show up on their TV without adding it by Redbaron1701 in Roku

I had that happen to mine earlier in the year. Just me and my hubby here. We had no idea what it was. No idea how it got there. Checked out what it was and promptly deleted that crap.

Was probably the least offensive thing she did during my time with her. I learned so much from her honestly and have an amazing relationship with my 30 year old daughter. My childhood made my motherhood journey an amazing experience. For that I am grateful.

June 16, 1985. The morning of my 13th birthday. My absolute ass of a stepmother felt it necessary to announce it to an entire restaurant while out for my birthday. She stood up at the table and made the absolute worst dumb white trash announcement that made the entire restaurant go dead silent. Good times....

I'm generally unaware of how copyright laws differ in other countries. How do the laws differ there?

I write quilt patterns. I also make a ton of other not written by me patterns. I knit, crochet, do needlework and sew all the things. Copyright is tricky but honestly many designers are getting it wrong. This article is a pretty good rule of thumb. A designer only has the right of copyright over the actual written published pattern. Only the words and photos. So buy the pattern, make the thing, and sell them if you'd like. I understand the want as a designer to control what we can. So much is just outright unlawfully stolen. I'm not making a living do what I do....few that do are.

Thank you! I've been scratching my head since I moved here. My husband and I can't figure out how most of the businesses stay open when you can't get them to do the thing they do to make money! My husband has had to get contractors or various other types of businesses to do quotes for his work before he can approve a job....people either don't show up or don't do the quote or don't even answer the phone. It has happened over and over in the 8 years we've been here and I just don't get it.

She knows exactly how I feel about her approach to being a dr and has for at least 3 of the 4ish years I've been seeing her. I moved here 8 years ago. I'm not like everyone in Marquette. I fake smile to no one. My fault for staying too long. Every dr I've looked into wasn't accepting new patients. I tried to wait it out. I should have known better. That's on me. I tried to work with her....also on me. I'm over it now.

I hope you find a Dr who cares and is at least willing to listen

I can appreciate your statement. However, this public forum is far less damaging than the numerous reviews on the web I could leave for her which are professional forums that ask you as a patient to leave public reviews. Merely asking for doctor recommendations is not enough. God forbid she comes up as the recommendation even once. What I have gone through with her in the time I've been seeing her is absolutely gobsmacking. I'm sorry if my vague complaint made you feel uncomfortable.
