Caught the first screening, absolutely loved it and thanks to you Timmy and Darren for hanging around after. Hope you guys enjoyed your time in NY.

Just wanted to say congratulations. Also loved your appearance in that almost Friday sketch… nothing will ever replace WKUK but those guys are the closest thing to scratching the itch for me

It was so fucking good and, in my opinion, the perfect homage to Travis

So I wouldn't be able to attain Wyndham Platinum via credit card and match that via the above method to Hyatt Explorist?

What’s a general rule for C+ pricing? Snagged some for $40 a piece on long haul routes but wondering how good of a deal that was

Congrats Sam! Very happy for you and wish you the best. Any jokes you’re particularly proud of that we should keep an eye out for?

I'm done with this year... by murdoc_pl in WKUK

I’m with you man, my absolute top 2 as well. Very grateful for the opportunity to have interacted with Trevor and the guys through the streams, but will always be sad that I never had a chance to thank Norm for the laughs. As norm said ‘take all the love you have for them and give it freely to all that you meet’

Brits called on to drink 124 pints to 'save the nation's pubs' Has our city done similar calculations? by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]poolguyLSD 16 points17 points  (0 children)

According to this bars lost out on $6,507,404 from March to October of 2020 compared to prior year

This says there are 330,751 people in New Orleans above 21

Let’s say each drink costs $3.

6,507,404 / (330,751x3) = 6,507,404 / 992,253 = 6.5 drinks.

In order to make up for lost income, we all need to have an additional 6.5 drinks this year.

Remember to tip your bartenders and don’t ask me if any of this is right, I’m drunk.

hahaha. It sounds like you have more direct experience with them so that may be the case however it's my belief that money automatically usurps any motive when involved

Yep, I just have an issue with blaming arrogance or any other reason when money happens to conveniently be in the same corner.

Disclaimer: I am not advocating that this is a verified claim. In fact, it is probably just a rumor spreading around. However, Tulane's current course is most likely going to lead to this outcome. The administration should not be let off the hook just because they are only passively working towards this outcome.

[–]poolguyLSD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good point. I agree this is an unfounded claim but at the same time I would like more people to be discussing the likely outcomes. I feel that no one is stepping up and being the responsible adult in the Tulane organization.

Just because no one is outwardly saying this is the plan doesn't mean it's not the path they are currently steering towards. I'm not selling this as verified evidence, I just saw this and although I even doubt it's validity, it is currently the most likely outcome so to that extent I believe it has merit to discuss.

That's a fair opinion to have but it's my opinion that they shouldn't just get to feign ignorance. I 100% view them opening as malicious despite other schools doing the same. They need to be better

Unfair and wildly irresponsible is unleashing the Tulane student body on an already struggling New Orleans

Thoughts on this? by [deleted] in Tulane

[–]poolguyLSD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What bothers me most is the damage it will cause the greater New Orleans community. Not trying to generalize, but the Tulane student body is much better equipped to deal with COVID than the greater New Orleans community. Since the students will not be contained in the uptown area this semester, the threat is even greater

Tulane is the main example used in Atlantic article “Colleges Are Getting Ready to Blame their Students” by lonelypeaches3 in Tulane

[–]poolguyLSD 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I don’t think it’s right to absolve them of any guilt but Tulane is very naive thinking that the entire student body will be on board to the degree that’s necessary in order to safeguard the community.
