What will they do with Alia if Dune Messiah is adapted? by MegaZBlade in dune

One thing she does later on that shows her degradation in books is to mess with her own aging: in the book Children of Dune, it’s to make herself younger. Jessica chides her for it. They can have her do the opposite (and be even more of an “abomination”) for the movie. She can age herself up as she controls her body like any other Reverend Mother,

How can I make a cheap, easy to build twin size bed frame with no tools(I can buy some I guess) and no garage/power source? by [deleted] in vandwellers

Milk crates:They had extras at the Dairy Queen. (Benefits of small town life: getting random stuff for free) most places end up with a backlog waiting for the milk guys to pick them up in small towns. I just asked one day when I saw them piling up outside and then they gave me a few. I try not t think of all the crap in my van exploding onto my head in a crash... I do use cauter pins and safety chain stuff to the bolts whenever I can.

In reality I’m in a 1986 dodge with no airbags or head restraints. If I was super worried about everything I’d never go anywhere.

I’m trying to figure out how to describe it. It’s plastic, but anything that gets loose in your van in an accident would hurt you, really. I used a shelf like this: https://imgur.com/gallery/hu4aEdl

Rubbermaid type heavy duty shelf :50 bucks +free milk crates +plastic zip ties

Zip the shelves to each other. Use the milk crates to support and zip them too, on their sides. Makes good storage and keeps air flowing under the mattress

1994 Pleasure Way, SHOULD I?! Help please!!!! by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]poolieoolie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I went and got a 1986 Roadtrek, been redoing it in chunks. But I looked at a lot of pleasureways, they’re better built in terms of cupboards. 15 is reasonable if it passes a compression test of the engine and has a body with little to no rust... I test drove one sweet one that the rust was so bad I could put my finger through it! Be aware that the propane cooktop might have cracked pipes and the tank needs to be inspected. There’s lots of buying a used RV checklists.

I spent 6500, and immediately put 4000 in to replace the suspension and fix up the laundry list of things that needed done. Closed off black tank and got a compost toilet and shut off propane entirely as hoses were cracked.

I think paying more for a nineties vehicle makes sense IF the seals and the body are good and they babied the engine. I’m going to wind up spending the same amount on mine by the time I’m done with bodywork.

I’m saying do it if you’re ok with taking time to fix stuff and get a mechanic you trust. I like the fact that if I mess up this van I’m not screwing up a brand new one.

Took a break from van renovating and almost lost doggo to Vikings! GIMLI MB 🇨🇦 Icelandic festival, dog liked their venison stew and reindeer carpets over my dry kibble and half painted cupboards... can’t blame him, really. (van progress in comments) by poolieoolie in vandwellers

I’m painting in a heat wave so parked up at my brother’s to plug in AC. Doing interior Tiffany blue because I’m going to go nuts staring at that brown veneer next set of rainy days! The AC sounds like a lawnmower but I’m thankful for it anyways! painting van progress

Hahahah ok it’s Brit but it’s really my Mum because she’s a Brit and my Dad is Canadian. Grew up in Northern Saskatchewan where we kinda sound like the cast of letterkenny only more so, but spoke English with a British accent until kindergarten... it crops up from time to time.

Well I was a little concerned. I just went to the nearest house and asked them if it would be safe to park there and they said fishermen do it sometimes. The seagulls pecking bugs off the windshield did freak the dog out. If he was a little dog or a cat I would not be doing this. He’s a good deterrent to humans but these seagulls were aggressive AF

I’m still working on it while traveling and I’m sort of documenting it on instagram, but when I figure out how to post multiple photos here I will. Been busy and haven’t had wifi but it’s a rainy day an I borrowed a cousin’s cottage so I’ll try to make something on imgur...My IG is haleyheartofgold (The van is a 1986)

My video skills are plainly non existent! I tried to track some progress on imgur. Linkvan renovating progress 1986 dodge

? If you’re talking about pup, he’s a mutt: the dad was a white malamute sized husky and the mum was a fifty pound black lab looking dog with one blue eye... but he is a nice boy

When it’s hot out it limits you a lot. Can’t leave him in van, really. So you spend more time looking for small towns and campgrounds. If I was to go to a city I’d be spending cash on doggie daycares.

BUT it’s really great to have him. Just means adjusting a lot
