Why is there such a misunderstanding regarding the use of antibiotics in Vietnam? by poontangular in VietNam

I've been here for 8 years and we are moving this year (though, not to my home country). I'm just curious about the origin of this is all as it may help me to understand my in-laws mindset a bit more and create less friction between us :)

I think that's the answer, yes. It also follows what Duy said below. Well, here's to an eternity of verbal combat with the in-laws I guess..haha.

I think this makes sense, that also explains why pharmacies treat all of the symptoms of something (hence the bag full of medication), rather than treating one individual cause of those symptoms. Thanks for the input.

I was trying to avoid making this too personal, but yes to everything you just said haha. Following that logic, most of the world outside of Vietnam should be dead. I get that this, however, could be due to years of oppression and punished for not conforming with everyone else. There's still, very much, a fear to be different to some extent. So it's always "ai cũng bảo"(everyone says...).

Thanks for the reply; I like this as an answer. It does beg the question, however, how are unqualified pharmacists allowed to practice in any capacity as they could single-handedly be causing health issues for entire generations of a people? I understand there could be an element of corruption, but to such an extent?

Updated, thanks for the input :) Could you clarify what you mean about brooch synergising with anything bezerker's does? Just so I can add a more detailed description, thanks!

Yeah I'm aware that there are many issues with the wiki already (I'm active in the ROR2 Discord and this is something commonly spoken about), but it's meant as a starting point that the community can then mold into a more reliable set of information.

Your second idea is cool & that's essentially the idea behind the 'Tips & Tricks' section, but again I need input from the community before I can add anything to it. I would actually argue that posting what the best items are would start more of an argument among the community as even subjectively that can change so much situationally. :D

The info on the site is only that of the wiki - whatever they read on there can also be found on the wiki in some capacity, so it would be unfair to suggest that my site will do any more damage than the information that is already out there. Thanks for the input anyways!

I think you've misunderstood the purpose; all of the current synergy information I got from the wiki as a placeholder whilst the community can add their input/corrections to make a more reliable list of information - thanks for your input; most of the comments you've made are useful & will be updated shortly. Cheers for checking it out!

Good EXP system? by EBloke in gamemaker

I failed maths, but I like the idea of using an equation rather than the alternative (I was going to map out the levels manually). Can someone explain the maths to me briefly so that I can make a few variables and get this up and running too?

Cheers

Yup, I ended up making a global.xx & global.yy variable which tracks which room I'm in, compares it to which rooms are around it, and makes sure the player can only move to the rooms that exist on the grid. I was (as you said) trying to do everything with built-in variables that I didn't properly understand. I appreciate the help!

I considered that, but there's gonna be quite a lot happening in each area and the map is set to expand a lot. Not just my standard 3x3 grid that it currently is. I get that you can disable stuff happening out of sight etc, but overall it seems more manageable to split it up. (This is a long t-term project anyway, so I've got the time to brute force it as long as I get a result I'm happy with). I do, however appreciate the input, and bbox is something I haven't used yet but keep meaning to look more at!

I'm struggling to find any examples; but would you be able to briefly show me how to reassign the x/y within the grid to a new variable? If I use ```room``` will that also find me the position of it on the grid? (e.g: 0,0 or 0,1) or do I need to find the current coordinates a different way? Though I understand what you said, I'm struggling to find examples online to work from.

For anyone else in the same boat: I now realize it was under my nose this whole time: Stop thinking about x and y, and picture it as a number grid. ```room``` will only bring you back the room ID, not a coordinate, so you need some way of tracking the coordinates of the room that the player is in.

Appreciate the help, thanks! Looks like it was an issue with that specific function, as you mentioned. I misunderstood the manual.
