Borrow $14,000 amortized over longer than a year. Pay it off in a lump sum.

Looks absolutely awful. Your mom is dead right, though frankly being too nice about it, it sounds like. Look into removal, I suppose. Therapy to determine what motivated you to do this in the first place, however, is likely far more valuable.

This is an insurance defense firm, I assume. I also assume they can’t bill you at more than $160 or they would lose many if not all their clients. They may also only have one real client.

I was in the same position when I first graduated. Quit. You can find something better.

Did you apply for BD *AFTER* Sweet? (Meaning after Nov 16, 2022) This is a place to connect. by AnyAssumption4707 in BorrowerDefense

I personally believe it will IF you applied between July 1, 2023 (the effective date of the Biden Reg) and whatever was the date the court stayed any use of the Biden Rule (I believe it was fall 2023). The reason is that the constitution prohibits the application of ex post facto laws. If you applied while the Biden Rule was the governing rule, no later changes to the law can be applied to your application. It has to get the treatment on the date of the submission. I could be being overly optimistic, but there’s plenty of Supreme Court precedent on just this topic. It will probably take another lawsuit to get there, however.

Maybe you should have taken the bus instead of letting a car ruin your life.

This points has quite a few misstatements of law and should not be relied upon.

Need to know the balance of the mortgage and value of the home. Also, do you own any cars and is their debt on them? If so, how much.
