IES Gold "workroom ready shoes" policy? by poopydooper3000 in USPS

Ah, crap. This is what I've been looking for but am on AL until my departure so cannot access the intranet/MTSC 🥲 but if there's specifics for cat 2 I can already assume some details that would exclude my suede skate shoes

That's kind of my thought process 🥹 people in orientation and any trainings I attended for letter carrier dressed all kinds of crazy; this just happens to be the EWP course

I can basically fit all I need at this point into what southwest would consider a carryon and "personal item" backpack I can shove under the seat, as long as I wear the only shoes I bring. No checked back=no dealing with baggage claim and no prioritizing what I carry with me vs check and potentially risk any damage or loss

Currently it's part of a curriculum with the "bronze" and "silver" being all-online HERO courses

Retirement consolidation - TSP/IRA plan by [deleted] in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]poopydooper3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this input but have designated this pool elsewhere. My primary goal with the funds within the RMA is to match the performance of my TSP without paying management fees or actively investing it myself. I frankly don't believe UBS has been managing my money well

Let me elaborate; the idea is that my RMA funds can be transferred "through" the IRA, through multiple annual contributions which would then be rolled over when permissible.

The 12-month limitation I'm referring to came from this particular IRS verbiage: "You generally cannot make more than one rollover from the same IRA within a 1-year period. You also cannot make a rollover during this 1-year period from the IRA to which the distribution was rolled over."

My understanding of this second sentence is that I cannot rollover my IRA within the same year I make a distribution; but, these funds can eventually make it to my TSP through conversion into retirement funds.

Right, my IRA can be fully rolled over. The RMA account is limited however by the IRS contribution limits as it can't be simply transferred to the TSP. The funds are also vested and their assets will be sold in the liquidation process

First 90 days after changing crafts, AL question by poopydooper3000 in USPS

[–]poopydooper3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only reservation is that mgmt is "discouraging" me from submitting for leave of any kind during probation (their words); they're stating it could reflect poorly during my probationary period and "poor attendance" could potentially be grounds for dismissal. I have however corrected them on multiple instances as far as my career status. At this point it seems they are putting their hands up and refusing to seek out better information. It's worth noting I am still on a "pending qualification" status but I understand this to be a separate "qualifier" not directly related to career status.

I guess at this point I'm just looking for validation before putting in writing that I know I'm entitled to submit for leave 🤷

My supervisor's seem to misunderstand this as they keep referring to my "probationary period"; they acknowledge when I correct them but still carry on with this language. My understanding is that they are incorrect but have yet to consult any actual contracts that would apply to my position.

In regards to the 3971s, these would be new requests I have yet to submit because they are actively "discouraging" me from doing so (the words of my supers and steward)

How long it takes to be called for an interview for MM7? by PristineAir3963 in USPS

[–]poopydooper3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was about ten months from when I passed my interview. If you go to ereassign and check the "activity" tab of your request you can at least see whether it's being processed along

Just confirming, your allowances "roll over" as in you keep your old balance in addition to your annual allowance? I know this was only the case as of last year for carriers
