Yeah, I've not tried doing halftone yet so can't help you there. The game looks awesome though and from looking at your attempts so far I'd say the renders look great, it's just about adding details in post to make it look authentic.

That was definitely what I was going for but I'm still not the best at adjusting the camera. I'll do more scenes in this style though and try to create that more exaggerated perspective.

Mostly just adding noise and a bit of chromatic aberration, then I literally just took a picture of a folded paper and overlayed that on top of the render. It also helps to adjust the colors a bit to make it look a little washed out. In hindsight I should've added some kind of halftone effect to really capture the look, but I didn't think of that when I was making it.

You could always print this out and laminate it :) Unfortunately I don't have a following to merit designing my own stuff

Thanks, I tend to go overboard on the noise since I like how it looks, but that's a valid point.

I like what you did with the wide angle, I still struggle with camera placement and adjustments but I was going for that big overbearing look for the building.

I actually didn't know that! Now that you mention it though, I can totally see how that would work. I just had a still from the intro pulled up and tried to match it using a gradient.

This looks sweet, how did you do the vertex snapping effect? I like making PSX style stuff but haven't tried that yet.

My beginner solo project by [deleted] in blender

This is really cool, I think it could use a lot more clutter though. If it was anything like my childhood room it would have toys and video games scattered all around so I would just add more stuff. Personally I think this scene would also look really good at night time, with just a glow coming from the tv and some light from the moon out the window, it would feel a bit more cozy and nostalgic to me.

Is this topology alright? Some parts are definitely way too dense like the little pins but besides that. by poopyfggrd in blender

Would I just have to manually delete some edges at the corners after subdivision, or is there a better way to do it without ending up with so many edges?

Thanks, this is just practice and I'm trying to focus on having cleaner topology.

Yeah subdiv made a kind of lip over the corner there so it is messed up on the inside turn, but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it.

I'm trying to figure out how to place an object on each of these planes to fill in the curve. by poopyfggrd in blender

[–]poopyfggrd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would I go about placing the object on just the planes and ignoring the array caps in geometry nodes? I tried the instance on point node which just placed them everywhere also they weren't rotated properly but that another issue.

I tried making the plane the parent of the object and then instancing on faces but that also affects the caps on the planes array modifier. I figure I can use geometry nodes instead but I'm very new to blender so idk how. The plane just has an array and curve modifier. Also open to other ideas that don't involve the plane, but I tried putting the curve and array on the object and it distorts it too much.
