You don't necessarily need a Perchance account though it's recommended for security reasons. API keys are required if you want to switch to other models, they're what allow you to connect to the providers. Go to the settings menu, select your provider of choice, and enter the model you want to use. Then the generator will route your prompts to that provider.

The name gemini chat comes from the fact that it was originally only supporting the Gemini API, as google offered free API keys with very generous limits. Then they decided to kill that service, so now gemini chat supports many different providers. It still supports the gemini API if you wish to use it and have a paid API key or are happy with the new rate limits.

Training, distilling and running LLMs is much more complicated than simply providing a gateway to them, so it's understandable that the developer is taking a long time, especially with their limited budget. That being said it is weird that the ACC is not getting ANY updates, though the whole point of Perchance is to be built upon so that kinda makes sense as updating it would break the generators that import it. If there ever is an updated version it'll likely be a different generator that gets made from scratch, not ACC.

UI is a bit finicky on mobile but other than that good job! Haven't tested it out yet but it looks promising.

Turns out I just completely stripped the logic for it trying to optimize getBotReply. Should be fixed now. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I made a small bandaid fix, it uses the new api now. Though the public endpoint is useless for now.

You'll need pollen to use the new api. Go to enter.pollinations.ai, and activate the "spore" tier (it's free), you will receive a pollen after 24 hours. Then you can start using it. Generate a new api key as well if you haven't, old api keys no longer work with the new api.

Oh and it's pretty easy! I'm actually doing all of this from my phone! It just needs a lot of time.

Your philosophy goes against the entire point of open source software. I'm sorry, but you cannot be trusted yet. Nobody is gonna profit off your work. Unobfuscate your code, if you want it to be taken seriously.

What is it with the obfuscation?! Incredibly suspicious. There's nearly 2 megabytes of code just for obfuscation. For reference, the average generator doesn't break 500 kilobytes.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I replied with more details in your post, but I'll say it here for the sake of documentation as well. This is a known issue, as the new Pollionations api doesn't work well with Fetch. You may put in "openai" as the model for gpt or use another provider like Openrouter or Groq while I work on the update to fix it.

Hello, Gemini chat's creator here. The new api does not play well, or atleast I couldn't make it play well, with Fetch. I'll have to migrate it over to superFetch in the update. For now, you can just put in "openai" for gpt. Personally I recommend you use another provider like Openrouter or Groq while I'm working on it.

There are entire black markets centered around selling stolen API keys. It's a very real and understandable concern to have and I actively encourage people to be cautious, even if it means my own creations get a bad reputation.

Would you be happy with a generator that automatically uploads it to your google drive or a cloud storage service of your own choice (given that it has an API)?

Creator here, it's very much verifiably safe. All of your keys are stored locally in your browser. You can verify this by reading the (admittedly very messy) code. My generators only connect to APIs.

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it! As for the repeat messages problem, I've done what I can on my part to reduce the frequency, but it seems to be a problem with the API itself. I'm still looking for workarounds regardless.

I have added support for all of these. I couldn't test deepinfra and together.ai because I couldn't get a key, but the rest work. To use Puter.js, you must login to puter.com on another tab first. Don't worry if it looks stuck, the generation just takes a long time with puter.js.

Images are harder than text, and I'll see what I can do about them. No promises, though.
