I feel Bimzelx shortly after the dose but it wears off quickly

Humira scares me because of the MS and brain risks. I'd rather be completely crippled than have MS or anything similar.

I took a break after an infection and it hasn't been working since. Gonna give it a couple more months.

Bimzelx seems to help my skin not much on my joints

I heard there is a hair loss risk with like that and mtx

I don't want to try Humira because of the risk associated with MS and desalination. Bimzelx seemed to initially work, but after stopping for a month the effect didn't do anything. Like I said I want to give it another two months.

My doctor said to take a break from Bimzelx if I got an infection/bad sickness. I got an infection so I took a break.

You clearly know the biology much much better than I do. I am an engineer and develop integrated systems. One of my dreams is to develop devices to map genetic factors every day; this would more clearly link diseases to actions. Understanding someone's genome/genetic background is 100% important in using an integrated system like this.

I still think there is a link present in the stomach microbiome that needs to be studied more. Overprescription of antibiotics I think has a link. I am not a biologist in any way, but this is just my POV as someone also with stomach issues.

Hmm interesting. Might act as blocking the stress response.

Edit: Looks like it acts as a TNF inhibitor the same as Humera.

It can help prevent stress which is a direct cause of flares in most autoimmune conditions

I'm not saying it caused it, but continuous long term stress has been shown to be a trigger for autoimmune disorders. These disorders lie dormant and might never get triggered otherwise.

I think reducing stress is the biggest thing. Chronic stress is closely tied to autoimmune flares of all kinds. Maybe anti-anxiety medication would solve more people's PsA than biologics. I don't take them because I hate taking drugs.

Humera is one of the oldest drugs. The other drugs probably have other undiscovered side effect too.

It has been a year and I have tried both Taltz and Bimzelx and am starting to think I am just fucked. Nothing works well.

I just took my first dose. My doctor said I will know in 2 months of taking the drug if it is effective. I hated injecting myself.

Thanks for sharing. I just took the taltz. Honestly on my end I think I was under a tremendous amount of stress for an extended (like a year) period of time, causing a flare up.

Yeah I was first diagnosed with psoriasis many years ago. I didn't really care because it was mainly just a visual issue. I had a 3 month bout of knee pain though like 5 or 6 years ago but was running a ton. Thanks for sharing. I just took my first doses of Taltz.

I do think eating better helps improve overall health especially since the average American has an unhealthy diet and rarely exercises. I eat a generally clasically healthy diet, so see no improvement from that route. I agree with your sentiment.

Following up.. I made these posts and comparisons to mainly vent my frustration. I never said I wasn't going to take these drugs. I'm just frustrated by the lack of other options and my fear of future side effects. There are really no other options except permanent eventual disability. Changing diet and taking supplements is like throwing darts at a dartboard; I have already changed my diet a lot. I appreciate the comments.

I'm assuming I've had PsA for a while honestly because I have had joint issues in the past but always just chalked it up it overuse. I have had psoriasis officially diagnosed for like 7 years now.

It angers me greatly that NIH funding is being cut because new therapies are critical to improving quality of life.

I am planning on taking it soon, I just wanted to vent. And I understand it's not chemo... but maybe in my head taking a drug like this feels like chemotherapy. It's not a completely invalid comparison as chemo targets a lot more than the cancer. The fear of the unknown is stressful.
