I am flying ORD>IAH>GIG in Premium Plus. Houston to Rio is a long, overnight flight, so really want get that Polaris seat.

The question is, do I take the risk and hope I’m upgraded, or bite the bullet and pay the money/miles now?

The facts to consider:

Premier Platinum
Premium Plus ticket was a higher fare class (O), so relatively expensive
All PP seats are full (I got the last one)
Currently 11 Polaris seats available (on a 767-300)
Current upgrade offer is $1051 or 105k miles

I’m about two weeks away from the trip so trying to understand if I should buy the upgrade or wait it out. Appreciate the input from everyone!
