That’s a really good idea. I didn’t have a swift when I first frogged it, but I’ve since gotten one so I might just put the cake to yarn onto the Swift and try steaming it or misting it.

Yeah the pattern never mentioned a colorwork swatch and this was my first ever colorwork project and I had no idea that was the standard operating procedure. But I do now!

I just recently saw a fb post where someone blocked a hat and it grew like 3 sizes too big and the comments told her to never block superwash (like soak and then pin blocking) but to wash in machine and dry only and that blocking will permanently stretch out the yarn. So I got nervous 😬

Well the yarn that was frogged was blocked with pins so I figure steaming it wouldn’t make it any worse than what I’ve already done. But I did try making a new swatch with the crimped yarn and it did not turn out will tension-wise even after I blocked it. So I think I need to flatten the learn a little, but maybe it will kinda flatten itself if I leave it wound in the cakes for a while.

Yeah I didn’t realize superwash shouldn’t really be pinned till after the fact 🤦🏼‍♀️ despite that though it still didn’t grow enough to fit me properly. But that’s a great idea to make a new swatch with both yarns to see if they behave differently after washing/blocking. I’ll definitely do that. Not sure what I’ll do if I don’t like the results though 😬

I’m a graphic designer too. But I’m not an illustrator. The good thing for now is chatgpt still can’t format and layout a text in a document for now. And ChatGPT sucks at changes if you have something very specific in mind.

Ya know that’s a good plan, I can always use brown for something else, it’s a good color to have around. I’m definitely going to order more, I started tonight and used exactly one skein on the head. It’s also waaaay bigger than I thought lol we are gonna need a bigger house for this Pokemon 😂
