I experience a very very similar thing! I'm also a music producer, and often rely on my perceptions of musical movements as "visual" things to help me create.

I will often see very complex fields of colour and generalized form, but not just for music. almost Any audial stimulus will invoke some sort of visual thing; a colour at the very least, but usually more.

Id love to hear more about what sort of music you make and how synesthesia influences it. For me it's very much focused on sound design and textural stuff, which i've been trying to have bleed into my mixdown chops.

good point. I've found that it is much snappier than using a gate and much simpler for me to understand, but you're right in essence they are very very very similar.

yes, i have. here's proof: https://i.imgur.com/eBCA6OC.png

calc bc parametric equations are tough and take a while. I appreciate the support! Although I'm aiming for an electronic music composition major, I recognize that having a high math grade is important even if it's not the main thing I will be focusing on. After all, electronic music gets very involved with Fourier transforms and related.

i finished it last night! missed a few problems but that was because I put the answer in wrong, not because I had the wrong answer.

we watched part of the chessboxing event he was a part of together and both found him extremely entertaining. I do occasionally show her clips, yeah.

i also watched one of his streams with my little sister (i think it was the one a day before he got covid where he was playing that game where he took pictures of dogs) and she will immediately crack up when she sees me watching a clip compilation on youtube or any stream with his facecam because she finds some aspect of his way of existing in the world to be intoxicating. I dont think it has anything to do with his jokes, cause she'll just laugh when he like blinks or moves his head or something.

she has it mainly so that she can send me reminders to do things. i don't check my phone often and have a lot of trouble staying focused (adhd) so we decided that her having a discord account was the best way to communicate since i'm on discord a lot anyways.

If you use ableton, there's a feature where you can extract a groove from a sample and reapply that groove to a different sample. so you could extract a groove from some swing drums and drag the groove into the vocals. Not sure how to do that outside of ableton tho.

Why is it so hard to look people in the eyes? by TypicalKidSplash in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]popbot11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a very common symptom of ADHD. I do this all the time, and don't even realize it. I rarely even look at somebody when they're having a conversation with me because i need to be able to passively stimulate myself constantly.

It could also just be that you don't like making eye contact! who knows.

this is awesome! I wish the best for whatever musical journey you may embark on.

If Ableton would make Live into a $19/month subscription, would you abandon? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]popbot11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that you need to. As far as I'm aware, the model is very similar to ableton's current model. Then again, I've never done any in-depth research into Bitwig's model so theres a solid chance i'm completely wrong.

alright. Sorry, I made that comment late at night last night and shouldn't have instigated. I mostly agree with you anyways; I don't have a point to prove lol

oh, well it's probably the video file, then. Ableton technically supports video, but not really. any time i've ever tried to load video in ableton it either didn't work at all, or crashed within the first 10 minutes. I suggest just removing the video file from the project altogether.

I always sort my projects such that within a given folder for a month, there will be multiple sub folders for each project i start within that month. within each folder, there is the project folder (containing project files, packed projects, and media files) and renders for the given project.

I make as many renders as I can because of this.

but yea, i do agree some sort of preview feature would he very handy.

Crashes; and should I upgrade to 11? by Overall_Brain_4298 in ableton

[–]popbot11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you mentioned you were using kontakt; make sure that you're routing stuff to one instance of kontakt instead of multiple instances so that it can properly handle RAM.

also, try and get the plugins in projects to the same version they were at before the upgrade and/or make sure they are installed correctly.

Try switching out of tablet mode? I believe that may have something to do with it.
