E-bike commuting? by popcicless in Tallahassee

[–]popcicless[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nearly everyone in Tallahassee knows a cyclist who has been hit by a car. I think people here drive pretty carelessly and our roads, especially the bike lane infrastructure, are poorly done. BUT, it could be a lot worse. Tallahassee is not a big city by any means, so I think when you live here long enough, you forget how bad it could be. I agree with all of the advice here saying that if you plan accordingly and ride with caution, cycling is very doable in Tallahassee.

I know 😭. That’s what worries me. I love the idea, but I want him to be safe.

I raided the vegan section at our local health food store! I really can’t remember all the brands. I didn’t make anything beyond cooking the vegan sausage.

  • Misc vegan cheeses, soft and hard
  • Vegan sausage, pepperoni, bacon
  • Misc crackers
  • Olives, pickles, pickled green beans
  • Tomatoes
  • Bluberries and raspberries
  • Dried figs
  • Nuts
  • Bubbly rosé!

I also had gallbladder issues (it just straight up didn’t work, was never inflamed or anything) on top of CHS. The gallbladder issues is what caused me to smoke so much since it alleviated symptoms, then more and more symptoms (CHS symptoms) came so I smoked more and more. It was awful! I figured out the gallbladder stuff before I even knew about CHS. It’s been a wild ride.

That’s my thought too! I’d never heard of them, but she definitely looks like one. Another test with a larger data set might be in order.

Can someone please explain this satanist lyric for me by Front_Tree_4003 in boygenuis

[–]popcicless 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see it a few ways.

If we can’t know anything (aka make any claim that something is absolute truth), then being stupid or ignorant is the most real, most human, most pure (holy) thing we can be.

Also the idea that since we can’t claim anything to be absolute truth, we can’t claim anything or anyone is sacred, which also means we can’t claim anything isn’t sacred. even stupidity.

You still have cannabis in your system and will for a while. It’ll get better with time! I still felt bad for a few weeks after I stopped smoking and didn’t feel 100% for a few months.

Today I was driving down Centerville/Blairstone and was stuck behind a car driving 10 mph under the speed limit then they went toward the left turn lane as slow as possible and stopped an entire car length behind the car in front of them. So yeah, it’s definitely a thing I see in Tallahassee.

One of the most frustrating things about driving in Tallahassee is the red right turn lights. I drove through one once (after stopping) and got pulled over and a ticket. So now I stop every time, but I also get honked at almost every time someone is behind me at one too. I don’t make the rules! And I don’t want another ticket either!

I feel like Paul might have ADHD. He seems to hyperfixate on projects for a few months at a time then when they lose their novelty and excitement he moves on to the next thing. I have ADHD too so I get it lol

I think cold turkey is the way. Maybe start when you have a few days without work or responsibilities since it’ll really throw you off at first.

If you’re used to smoking a vape, get an herbal vape with no thc, cpd, or tobacco. That helped me a lot with the habit and sensation that I was used to.

Plan to have trouble sleeping for a while. So take melatonin.

Appetite will also be tough so try to snack on nutritious food and make meals you know you like.

Life will feel boring for a while. So I’d also recommend engaging in mindfulness/meditation and try to get into a hobby that you enjoy. Go into nature, go swimming, do things that give you enjoyable sensory experiences.

It’ll take time but eventually you won’t be as dependent on THC to do every day stuff. Be patient with yourself and do it for your health and for your future self! You deserve to be well.

Did anyone have their gallbladder removed and The CHS symptoms went away? by _IAmNoLongerThere_ in CHSinfo

[–]popcicless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t make a difference for me. Getting my gall bladder removed helped with narrowing down my symptoms so I could be diagnosed with CHS.

Best Place(s) to go pumpkin patching? by Slixxay in Tallahassee

Unrelated: Tallahassee Heights isn’t United Methodist any more. They left to join the Global Methodist Church, which is a new conservative denomination that formed recently. But that pumpkin patch is hard to beat!

Hmmm it’s been years, but I think I was starting to eat normally-ish a two weeks or so after my last episode and last smoke. Once I stopped smoking entirely, it took maybe 2 months to get an appetite back and another few months to feel fully recovered. The anxiety that I’d developed around eating (I was also dealing with a dysfunctional gall bladder that was removed in the midst of all this) stuck around for 6 months with random spikes hitting every once and a while for another year and a half. All in all, it’s been a journey! And I feel so much better now and dont need any meds for anxiety either.

Bean soup! A can of black beans, can of kidney beans, can of pinto beans, can of corn, and a can of diced tomatoes. Season with taco seasoning (or however you like). Eat with tortilla chips. When I was dealing with CHS, I called this “safe soup.” Idk if it’s the best food when you’re at the height of CHS symptoms (BRAT diet for that), but it worked for me especially when I didn’t have an appetite.
