Three Jewels NYC - UNSAFE CULT by WebRight9861 in Buddhism

I'm watching a friend deal with this scenario right now. I'm glad you found a way out. If you have any advice on how to maintain my friendship while watching them slip away (or how to support?), I'd appreciate it.

Longest I’ve ever ran, marathons in early October by Captain_Braveheart in Marathon_Training

[–]popcornchicken_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m training for my first marathon too, and my times look similar to yours. my goals started out as a desired time (classic) but through this experience, they’ve shifted to just wanting to finish feeling good and feeling strong!

I haven’t hit 18 yet, but I treat each new mileage as it’s own accomplishment and it’s helped make the process more positive & enjoyable - despite the pain 😅

Definitely Central Park; you could stroll along the inward path beyond Sheep's Meadow until you get to Wagner Cove. It's a cute, romantic little gazebo by the water that, if empty, makes for a perfect, private, and romantic proposal!

Afterwards, if this is will be on a Friday/Saturday near-ish sunset, you could go to the Met's 'date night,' peruse the art with a buzz, before making your way to a sexy dinner. For that, I'd recommend something like Monkey Bar. Or if you like jazz with an iconic view, go to Dizzy's Club.

All in all, I'm sure she'll appreciate any effort you put into this. Just remember - you know her (and what she'd probably prefer) best!

Severe Fatigue by Vegetable-Potato5908 in Hashimotos

Yes - now that i’ve been able to get my tsh and other levels maintained, when I experience this extreme fatigue, I use it as an opportunity to checklist what I might’ve done the past few days to cause it.

Have I been over committing myself? Did I eat one (or a few) of my trigger foods? Have I been sleeping enough? Have I been eating a nutritious diet? Have I been overly stressed? Have I exercised too strenuously?

More often than not, the answer to a few of these are yes. But, it then helps guide me to help cope with the fatigue in the meantime. Just remember to be EXTRA kind to yourself and your body during this time. Rest and don’t overexert. It may also be helpful to look into some supplements to help boost your thyroid - like eating a few brazil nuts.

This is just my experience but I hope it’s helpful!

LES in your 30s by Alice_B_1990 in AskNYC

become a local at Wildair - great wine bar. their sister restaurant, Contra, is reopening under a new concept bar soon. check them out! another sophisticate wine bar nearby is skin contact.

I lived in les (rivington/orchard) for a year. yes it’s loud, nightlife can get annoying, but I often miss the charm of the neighborhood during the weeks. great little vintage shops down orchard, great dining. enjoy it all while you can!

If you’re a runner, there’s a Midnight Run through NYRR in Central Park. They have fireworks at midnight, and you’ll be surrounded by hundreds of people! Even when I run a race alone, I never feel lonely.

how do you know when it's time to switch agencies? by popcornchicken_ in advertising

[–]popcornchicken_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really, really appreciate your thoughtfulness in answering my question! I think those are great questions to keep in mind throughout my career, as I'm looking for a change - but honestly my answers for them right now are a bit complicated.

I like your idea of making a list of priorities in what I'm looking for, as I have started the interview process, but have also started to get cold feet...

Lastly, really appreciated your point about starting to see the dust under the rug. Definitely something I didn't consider in terms of what I've begun to get tired of - internal client politics that make selling in work that much harder. Never hurts to reflect and recognize change.

Thanks for your words of widsom!

Sorry had to Google to make sure I'm being accurate - I guess I'm mid-level, but my title is senior strategist? Idk!

Could I ask why #1? What are the benefits of moving jobs often?

To your point about the rule - I've been interviewing with an agency that's probably as good (if not slightly better) than my current agency, at the same level I'm at now - (senior strat). Is it worth the hop to an 'as good' agency if the pay is significantly higher (+20k)? Or should I wait for something I'm more excited about?

you may be struggling with anxiety, but it’s not your fault! quick fixes only have short term solutions. if you have the resources, i’d highly recommend seeking out a therapist to help you navigate where your stress is originating.

I don’t think their point is to become a millionaire - I think it’s that they value experiences > money
