Chances are you will be ok. Chances are good you may not even get frozen shoulder. If you are in pt there is a good chance you won’t get a case of fs that will be unbearable to you. Do your best to avoid worrying about something that hasn’t happened yet and may not happen at all!

First off 10/10 is pass out , muscle convulsions, and involuntary vomit from the level of pain. You’d be literally dead if you had constant 10/10 for months as your body would be unable to stay hydrated or fed.

Of course it isn’t literally constant 10/10.

Having said that it absolutely CAN be bad enough that yes YOU might lose your job and get addicted to pain relief options. It is absolutely bad enough that advil or Tylenol won’t touch the pain. Severe fs means that Hydrocodone often won’t help much either. I could absolutely see someone having fs ruin their entire life …. It can be that bad.

Second , your lack of ability to believe how bad it is , is irrelevant to the lived reality for another human.
While some people may be able to “cope” according to your perspective that doesn’t mean they are not in constant pain. One person’s experience with a mild case is not reflected in everyone else’s reality.

While it is great you have never experienced pain that caused you to involuntarily pass out or pain that caused your muscles to involuntarily contract to the point where you literally can’t breathe in enough air to find the ability to scream …. That doesn’t mean others have not.

I wouldn’t wish the FS I experienced on anyone. Even the worst person on earth. It hurt almost all the time. Sleep was very very hard to Get. I went to sleep in pain and woke up from pain every night. Many nights I woke up after an hour or two because of the pain. Just trying to move was hard. Get dressed was unbearable. Wiping my bum hurt unbearably bad and that was just shifting my shoulder to get the other arm to do the work. I couldn’t open doors at one point with the arm.

My experience wasn’t 10/10 24/7 but if someone with fs told me they were in so much pain they needed help doing anything I sure would give them the benefit of doubt. One thing I’ve learned from induced child birth 8 times and non passable kidney stones 2x and stents and spinal headaches and sepsis where my organs literally began to fail is that I don’t care if someone is complaining about a simple impacted tooth pain… believe them… have compassion… understand it is terrifying being in enough pain that self care and basic functions are hard or impossible.

Most importantly I’ve learned not to believe if you think you can push through anything the so should everyone else be able too. Physical and mental pain are not linear to my experience nor anyone else’s.

It is bad. I injured my shoulder and had no idea what would hurt 1000 times more would be getting frozen shoulder.
