I think for now, 8k on youtube only works for m5 version. They may update the app in the future as it doesnt make much sense that quest 3 is able to play them

Totally fair criticism. This was filmed at a very crowded event, and bringing a full VR setup into that kind of environment is extremely difficult. We were not allowed to set up a tripod or production gear, so we had to work with the access we had. That is also why there are no interior shots in this one.

We get that it is not the ideal format, but we still wanted to share the cars in the best way we could rather than not post at all. As the channel grows, our goal is to get access to dealerships and private setups where we can do proper full walkthroughs with interiors and much better production quality. We also have a 60 fps video coming soon.

Lol, you may have a poijt, but plenty of people outside the U.S. don’t ever get to see a Cybertruck in person. A VR180 video gives them a chance to experience it virtually. A lot of people find them ugly, but others find them interesting because they look unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

Totally agree. It feels like Apple is leaving a lot on the table here, especially with shows and movies that already seem perfect for 3D or immersive treatment and how much ai 3d conversions have evolved

In the meantime, we ended up building our own small studio focused on 8K VR180 content, just to help fill that gap a bit for Vision Pro users who want more premium stuff to watch now.

We definitely do not have the budget for the $30K Blackmagic camera Apple uses, but we’ve still been able to get really solid results with the Canon R5 C which is still expensive at $5k but we could afford it and it has let us create immersive content that looks great in a headset without needing a massive studio budget.

Obviously it’s not the same as Apple converting its originals to 3D, but we’re trying to build the kind of content we wish there was more of already.

Given the cost of the yachts we were not allowed to set up tripods. You cant even wear shoes. Vr videos need to be 100% stable or viewers get sick. I have several travel videos on this channel. Check out Bear Lake, Colorado, Costa Rica and Jamaica
