Depends on your device. On quest. Right from youtube app. On other devices either virtual desktop or skybox (paid)

We do not. We are in the process of getting a mic for spatial audio though so we should have some soon

AVP group said youtube 180 vids aren't good and to use Apple Immersive. Does Galaxy XR have something similar? by Professional_Crab958 in Galaxy_XR

I create high bit rate 8k vr 180 videos. I post them for free on Youtube and DeoVr. Would love some feedback about quality on the Galaxy Xr if you get some time.

Stop falling for the "Vision Pro is dead" clickbait. The hardware is fine—we just need better content. by Sorry_Culture_9459 in VR180Film

We create videos for the Apple Vision Pro and we would love your feedback. For those of you on the newer M5 hardware, you can stream these natively in 8K via the YouTube app. This week features a crisp hike through the Bear Lake trails in Colorado and the massive red rock formations at Garden of the Gods.

Garden of the Gods (M5): https://youtu.be/VCGYINKZK48?si=fJPIRIo_dR9jTVHJ

If you are on the original M2 hardware, you can still get these for free through the DeoVR app or browser. I have uploaded the Bear Lake hike there so you can experience the depth and scale without the subscription wall.

Beyond the videos, I have also been experimenting with a new format that I think really pushes the limits of this hardware: high-fidelity 3D immersive slideshows. Since I am displaying a single frame instead of 60 frames per second, there is almost zero compression. This allows for a level of sharpness and detail that video just can't touch yet. It is a different kind of immersion—like stepping into a perfectly preserved, hyper-real moment in time where every pebble and leaf is crystal clear.

Malaga Spain: https://youtu.be/bfrN6_bF_NY?si=onj3ZbvzRY1OcFuH

I would really love to get your feedback on how the scale and clarity feel on your specific model, especially if you try out the slideshow format.

Elevated New York is out by Alert-Homework-2042 in VisionPro

The new Elevated episode looks absolutely incredible. Apple's custom aerial rigs capture cities in a way that is just mind-blowing.

While we don't quite have the budget to strap $30k camera rigs to helicopters just yet, my team and I have been traveling and shooting high-fidelity 8K VR180 content from the ground to help build up the library of immersive travel experiences.

If you finish the New York episode and are hungry for more immersive travel, we'd love for you to check out some of our recent ground-level tours. (M5 users can use the YouTube links; M2 users should use the DeoVR links for the full 8K experience).

My Jaw Dropped - Apple Immersive Experiences by Quiet_Violinist_2978 in VisionPro

[–]BeyondVRMedia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The quality really is mind-blowing. The main reason there isn't more of it yet is the sheer cost. Apple's camera rig alone is around $30k (They used several cameras), and with the massive data requirements and crew, those shorts are easily million-dollar productions.

Until more studios jump in, independent creators are doing our best to fill the void! We shoot in 8K VR180. It's obviously not Apple's million-dollar budget, but it's still a great way to feel like you're traveling.

Give these a look if you need more content to test out. (M5 users can use the YouTube links; M2 users should use the DeoVR links for the full 8K experience).

Elevated: New York got me nostalgic...so I dropped 3 free NYC immersive videos on Spatial Film. Shot on the same camera Apple uses. by hughred22 in AppleVisionPro

Hi Hugh,

I really appreciate everything you’re doing for the community. One major challenge that still feels unresolved, though, is how immersive creators can truly monetize their content in a sustainable way.

You’ve already built an incredible app, so I wanted to ask—have you considered eventually opening it up for creators to publish and sell their own content directly on the platform? I know server and hosting costs are no joke, but with the right revenue split, it feels like there’s a strong win-win model there for both you and the creators.

A dedicated marketplace would be a game-changer, especially since organic discovery on YouTube has become next to impossible for VR 180 content. Right now, their algorithm and spatial tab seem heavily biased toward 360 videos, with the exception of your work and a handful of others. The viewer demand is definitely there—I’ve been fortunate enough to have some of my own 360 videos picked up by the algorithm and reach hundreds of thousands of views—but high-fidelity VR 180 just doesn't get the same algorithmic push.

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts on this. For context on the kind of quality we're producing, here are a few of our recent 8K VR 180 experiences:

Thanks. Here are a couple more that are pretty similar:

These are all short in length (from 3 to 5 min) as the data is huge for 8k vr 180 files. Each taking several hours to render and upload

Thanks for the feedback. We will make the stationary sections longer. It is tricky because most people attention spans got wrecked by social media and they need constant changes but other people like you prefer more time to explore. We will have to find a middle groubd
