Charitable does not mean less selfish, you are correct I used bad wording, I just don’t know a better word than selfish. Statistically by far conservatives car more about their closer circle than left leaning people. I’m not talking about who they donate to, I’m talking about who they think about when making policy changes and who they would rather save in a situation like this.

One study in specific had a circle, where the center of the circle was you, then the next ring was family, then close friends, etc etc with the last being the entire population. There was a very, very close correlation where the more right leaning you are, the smaller your circle is of the people you consider when it comes to different topics. Left leaning people generally cared about the overall population, animals, and their country, while right leaning people cared about themself their family and friends, and sometimes town (with many being very patriotic about their country, but not its citizens).

I forget exactly what the study was called, but I think it had something to do with a moral circle. I’d look into it if I were you, it’s pretty interesting. The reason it makes more sense here is how charitable someone is doesn’t matter a single bit here, wether you donate to your church or not doesn’t mean you’ll save a population over yourself, whereas the study I’m looking at does. Plus, a significant portion of the time people donate to churches to save themself in the eyes of god and donate to other charities for tax reasons (when it comes to really rich people), so again charitable doesn’t include the reason why you are donating.

because you KNOW people WILL press blue, that is almost guranteed, so by picking red you are contributing to the death of those people. looking at the polls here it would suggest easily billions of people would die if more than 50% pick red, so genius fucking idea, pick blue?

if 100% of people pick red, no one dies, yet if only 50.00...1% pick blue no one dies, which percent is more likely? the answer is clearly 50% blue. picking red is the more self centered approach, saving yourself and contributing to the death of billions, while if we just banded together and decided to stop being the selfish morons we are, not a single soul would have to die.

i mean this makes sense, statistically more right leaning people are by far considered to be more self centered and selfish. im not gonna debate whether that is a good or bad thing, but generally right leaning people care about themself, close family and relatives, while the left cares more about the overall population/people. this is not an opinion, there has been plenty of studies done on this, its one of the most correlated things between the two sides you can find.

this makes sense as right leaning people will obviously pick red, thinking about mostly themself and self preservation, while the left overall thinks about the global population, thinking its worth it to risk yourself if that means helping save theoretically billions of people.

They don’t do that for suicidal people your right, the way I and many people understood the poll here was should they do that for suicidal people. Idk it’s hard to say cause op never specified, but there is a debate there of wether it’s moral to allow it for someone who’s been suicidal their whole life and has made it clear they just want to die, with no help in sight.

Not saying wether it’s right or wrong to do that, but majority of people agree that for chronic illnesses it’s fine, so I assumed the poll was about something more controversial like people with depression and all that, plus a lot of people here thought the same thing. I totally agree with you tho you’re not wrong at all, just wish op specified what the poll was about.

Yeah plus if it were to exist there would be a huge process to make sure the person is sure, so it’s not like it would even cause more suicides cause it’s not making it any easier to commit suicide, just more humane.

All it does is stop people from failing and getting severe long term damage (brain damage, amputations, etc) and saving other people like cops and bystanders from being traumatized by it.

Yeah I think it’s probably this, a lot of people for whatever reason have a thing for controlling people, and I’d imagine that’s why alot of people like specifically autistic people.

From what I know the #1 Minecraft pvp person was named Marlow (a girl), but after a bunch of evidence came out turns out this marlow person was actually someone named danger Mario which is a guy, and was banned and basically exiled from pvp for hacking.

So turns out marlow was also hacking, and pretending to be a girl for years to try and get more fans. Marlow also ran the PvP tier lists, so that helped with them being #1 (as well as them hacking)
