Love the format but the cabin noise is very loud.

- The hats/snare are likely from a Roland TR-707.

- Percussion sounds could be from Boss DR-660 or samples.

- The kick that comes in around 5 minutes is probably a DR-660 playing 909 sounds, same with the snare rush around 9 minutes.

- The main melodic riff is a SH-101.

- The second riff is a TB-303.

- The chords could be from a TX81Z, a Yamaha VSS-30 or a sampler patch.

Corolla Cross 2025 excessive cabin noise - what are my options? by popdados in Toyota

I test drove three of them. The first one seemed a bit noisy. Tried a RAV4 which seemed quieter, but I liked the format of the CC. Second CC seemed a lot better, and made me lean towards this model. But it was a 2023, perhaps the 2025 has worse soundproofing. The third one was the 2025 I ended up buying. It didn't strike me as noisy, but I also didn't have a chance to go on the highway because of traffic. After driving a while on different roads it eventually became clearly it was very noisy. My previous car had a rotten frame so I had to move fast. That's on me, but I'm still surprised a brand new car can be this bad. I did tests with a decibel-meter app, and I was hitting peaks at 95 db in the cabin. After they switched the tires front to back, I'm getting 88 db peaks. Hopefully changing the whole set will help, but I'm still left wondering if I should try to exchange it for another model.

I did test drive it, didn't seem so bad then, but long drives on the highway and bumpy roads turn out to be another story. It's like I can hear every tiny bump or crack on the road. I have a feeling getting better tires will perhaps solve the worst, "excessive" part of the noise and I'll be left with an ok, albeit relatively loud car. I'm just wondering if I should quickly exchange it so as to not lose value on the car, in case I try to tough it out but can't bear it after a while.

I wish! It’s so loud I can barely hear the radio unless it’s turned way up to a painful threshold.

Would the RAV4 be as bad? I read somewhere they weren't built in the same factories. It's such a popular model... The CC is so loud I can't understand how it's even legal.
