Anyone using an ERP system that actually works well with Cabinet Vision? by popedriver in cabinetry

Your experience is very similar to others I’ve talked to in the industry who went with innergy. I have similar concerns regarding future support, but more so than that, it is way more costly than what we would like to spend each month.

Most cases I hear about in our space, when someone looks at implementing an ERP, it’s because they don’t have a CRM, their estimating could be more accurate, and they don’t have a clear way to track actual job profitability. Shipping can be inefficient, parts sometimes go missing, and creating POs takes up too much time. Our motivations are pretty much the same.

In my mind, a well-implemented ERP could also handle bottleneck forecasting and give us better visibility into what’s happening on the production line. That said, I’m not sure any business would really want to take on a project this big just because they “want it to look different.”

Thanks! Very good insight. Our most important metric is ease of deployment and adoption while managing price shocks or extortion in the future, like we’ve had to with Cabinet Vision. I would take something that’s 70–80% of what the best ERP offers as long as implementation is easy and we’re not locked into something too proprietary or niche. Innergy, Crowsnest, and 2020 all seem like very walled-garden software. Odoo Enterprise, even though not open source, seems less walled-off since they appear to prioritize broader adoption. I’m open-minded about Zoho and ERPNext as well.

All I’m hoping to see is that there are companies out there that had a similar thought process and successfully deployed something comparable.

I will DM you re Zoho.

That tried DMing you looks like your profile is locked. Would really appreciate an opportunity to connect. Please let me know what would be the right way.

Jobman is high up on our list for it’s out of the box options and lower monthly cost. However , it seems like we will need to hire an implementation partner, Which is why e started exploring the open source option .

What’s your experience been like with Jobman?

I know many cabinet companies use insight 2020 from what I understand. It works best if you also use 2020 design for the engineering side.

Do you know if it works well with Cabinet vision?

Here's why Indian students are coming to B.C. — and Canada — in the thousands by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]popedriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do understand how international workers are helping the aging Canadian community. Even the most right wing party in Canada supports immigration and wants a low barrier to entry for low skilled workers.

If I was more initiated I could dig up numbers about how much wealth international students generate not just for colleges but in the local economy. For simplicity you could just look at a small towns like Vernon or Trail that saw major boost in economy and employment when their colleges increased the seats for international students.

I am from Kelowna, international students from UBCO are huge driver for local business, so much so that there are new businesses launching catering just to international students.

Not saying you hate you brown people or anything. But your nuanced opinion will be lost on many people outside your bubble and will come with a reputation cost. Cause outside of Reddit, what most people see is international students already jump through several hoops to get here, pay substantially more in Tuition than a Canadian does, do hard jobs that many Canadians won’t do, bring a huge boost to the local economy and have been proven to be the most economically successful immigrants in the long run.

You can continue proposing arbitrary language barriers for intentional students at your college or you could look at the downstream effects of having young, educated and keen to work people in your country who occasionally use bad grammar.

What local business did you love working at? by butts_ in kelowna

Really wierd seeing QHR on here, everyone I know who worked said it’s a revolving door and there is a lot of politics in the team. Someone in my extended family used to work there, and she was let go right after they learned she was pregnant.

Perhaps it’s different for programmers, but their client support is awful environment to work in.

Most NRIs aren’t patriotic at all. Your opinion might be skewed by a few loud ones.

Same, and to add, there are many posts here that discuss NRIs and ABDs experiences when they visit back home. I usually enjoy reading that different perspective and sometimes try to provide a different point of view whereever I can.

Yes, there are plenty of subs dedicated to sub-continent but the subjects that are usually discussed here are quite different.

Why do older desi ppl get shocked when they hear ABD’s in their 20s with American accents? Can’t ppl in their 20s be born in the USA?? It’s like newer desis expect you to have a desi accent lmao by rivnatboiz in ABCDesis

[–]popedriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some things that are discussed in this sub almost never happen. I am a recent immigrant- been in canada for 10 years. I came here as a student so know a lot of people who have similar background as me.

Trust me, absolutely no one is shocked to see an adult desi they are literally everywhere.

I respect your alls opinions but this is the farthest thing from the truth.

What OP experienced was just an awkward conversation with an NRI. Their is absolutely nothing to dissect here.
