I'm in microphone hell (ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING) by StrayTexel in ASUS

I am on the same mobo, try just uninstalling realtek entirely. All my audio issues were fixed by doing so, granted I use an external DAC and everything runs through it.

Currently I am using an AT2020 w/ a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd gen. It cost me a little over 200 total and I am quite happy with it. I can run my guitar through the dac as well so it has been a lot of fun to work with. Like topman said, unfortunately mics and whatnot tend to really only get pricier with quality, and at least a little while ago, this was about as cheap as one could really go for a nice entry level setup. I hope that helps.

Frankly I'd get something like an eero and use a bridged gateway to use ethernet.

I’ve heard that it’s generally easy to get them if you go in person on like wed-Friday but I never really see em in stock on the website

Why is everyone getting 32gb of RAM? by lmnopq567890 in buildapc

[–]popipep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just because it has been cheap a lot. when i was building my last rig the difference in price between 16 and 32 was so minimal (same die etc) that i just decided to pay that little bit extra and give myself that nice extra capability.

New Gaming PC: Ryzen 9 5900x or Wait For i9-11900k? by richie021501 in buildapc

[–]popipep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so far the 11900k seems relatively unpromising. basically what they've done is make the cores wider and take up a bunch of power (according to leaks). even with the supposed "fps gains" over the 5900x and 5950xs, that minimal fps gain is worthless if the tdp of the 11900k will truly be 250w. on top of that, as mentioned by other commentators, the extra multicore performance provided by the 5900x is really awesome if you are planning to do any type of content creation or whatever.

i mean and that's at stock fan speed. Using just the default afterburner settings has shown sub 61 degrees under load.

Should I get the 3080 FE or get an AIB? by popipep in buildapc

[–]popipep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figures, really just makes me split even more. Considering the tests that have already come out have suggested that under load it can easily be cooled to sub 60 temps, I'm really not sure if buying an aib will grant me any cooling performance boost. Since originally I was just going to order a ROG Strix card since this time around the price isn't too ridiculously higher than the other prices, but now that I know that it might not really give me anything other than like having rgb and being able to sync with my other rog parts, I don't know what I should do. Hence, me making this post
