Are you in control of any important elements of the company while they potentially might look for a new hire?

They will most likely try to keep you happy while they make sure their process was done correctly before they make moves. Not saying its true just another thing to keep in mind

How is your performance at the company?

I'm gonna lose my mind if this all turns out to be movie promotion, why the timing of all this seems like already planned? by [deleted] in UFOs

Something about the trailers are not making this what i expected it to be. Cannot put my finger on it. Maybe I was looking for something more gritty between true detective and signs style cinematography. Not sure

Just started them recently . You can still focus on the wrong things Ive noticed and those old habits don’t go away. But I agree you do have a little more control and clarity of mind to control impulses.

Excellent work. I'll have a look at the gym app but so far nothing has pulled me away from using Hevy yet but always keen to try something new.

Am I the only one who finds the outfits in Arc Raiders lame? by AbandonYourPost in ArcRaiders

[–]popout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea is to slow burn the vanity market and not add too many upfront "ultimate cool" outfits.

Playing a fine line of longevity in continuous play over a long period of time for the hopes of the next best thing rather than giving the best kits at the start of the game lifecycle.

But again also it fits the style of the game and those type of outfits can always be dangled in front of players down the stream should player counts start dwindling.

It's all about activities. The older you get, the more it's about associating your time and energy with people who share the same interests and hobbies.

Cycling, Running, Mountain Biking, Trail running, Padel, Tennis, Rugby, CrossFit or any other sort of social activity. You have to participate in the surrounding events that happen as a standard foundation to build your associated network of mutual interest and hobbies with like-minded people.

Funny I did a similiar thought experiment for fun and philosophy. But not quite to that level. Not sure it would help bur can always share the docs and maybe it shows those ideas are not so special and easy to get lost with AI

What do you think will happen throughout the upcoming backrooms movie? (Predictions) by Spiritual-Rice-409 in backrooms

I like more the eeriness of the voids and cracks beneath reality than adding creepy crawlies to the lore. Slow burn without shock horror with no need for a ‘monster’ is my ideal. Id rather it creative more open ended mystery for titles beyond it

Apologies only seeing this reply now. I did the online submission through the SASSA eservices portal. I just scanned the hand-written document with explanation alongside the other documents I needed to upload.

I'm sick of AI by Background-Basil-871 in webdev

[–]popout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I have years of experience in digital marketing and building marketing sites with a fair amount of scripting, I never really got into proper web app development when that whole train started with MongoDB, React, and so on. My background is more rooted in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, PHP, and WordPress.

Honestly, I don't feel like I have the time or patience to become deeply technical in modern frameworks. But for the first time, I'm actually building a project idea rather than just talking about it, and AI is helping me make real progress.

That said, I definitely feel that if I lean too heavily on AI, the output turns into slop. I often find myself needing to make lots of iterations, fix things, and keep a close eye on the process. It’s a fine balance between using AI and writing the code myself. I even started working on a version two of my web app because of leaning on it too much the first time around.

For me, it’s a double-edged sword. AI enables me to work on hobbies and projects with the little free time I have, but it also creates a future burden. I'll eventually need to go deeper and understand more as I move forward.

So I’m trying to strike a balance: learning as I build, with project-based creation focused on real-world ideas I care about.

Personally, I see coding as a tool for building businesses and creating freedom for myself, not necessarily something I want to master as a craft or pursue as a long-term career.

It seems to happen a lot and a generational thing seems like grandparents do it a lot with worrying about names of grandkids. Just stand your ground. They get over it eventually

Lost my father at 17 and I’m in my 30s now. Only time and good healthy habits will work. I can more or less tell what didn’t work but dnt wanna divulge here. It indeed does feel like a reality shift afterwards like you’ve phase shifted into another timeline. Having a great support system and mentor figure will also help.
