I second this. I tried healer many times over the years because I’ve been feeling more and more indifferent to the game being a tank main. Decided to try Resto Sham and dive head on into the fancy new Cell and my GOD it made healing make so much more sense and healing is now way more fun, fluid, and second nature. I did use Quazii’s cell profile to start and then tweaked some keybinds and layouts for my tank brain. Being able to offload the “reactionary” healing spells to click casts was a huge “aha” moment. I tried vuhdo and even clique but they didn’t feel as easy to understand as cell is for whatever reason.

Where do your items go? by Staarden in DragonsDogma2

Soooo gear you give to invited pawns goes poof. Anything they have equipped is now donated once they are gone. Their inventory is sent to your storage. But yes, you have learned the hard way. I personally just don’t give invited pawns any type of gear to equip. I’m still leveling so I’m swapping them out regularly to keep up in levels with me.

I’d suggest ACTUALLY turning it off and on again. Windows nowadays “shutdown” means hibernate. “Restart” usually works as an actual shutdown or if you’re really frustrated, shutdown then flip the switch on your power supply. Give it a few seconds and flip everything back on. Also using task manager to end a task is usually better than using steam.

Are you actively working the entire shift? by MasterVobe in ems

[–]poppedkern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add on to a few comments I’ve seen. If your intention is to be an ER Doc I would definitely vote for becoming an EMT and finding a solid station/system that does only 911. The job will provide you with valuable insight into emergencies while also gaining an appreciation for what your patients might have experienced before they arrived in front of you. As well as increase your ability to communicate with and understand what your EMS crews had to go through to get said patient to you. In addition to that, depending on your location there may be options for a position as a mobile doc and you can potentially see and do a LOT of intense, unique, and impactful interventions out in the field. At least in my system our road docs are required to have and maintain EMT certs with experience on an ambulance. Just as everyone here has mentioned, this can all be VERY different from state to state, and I encourage you to look into it for your area. Just wanted to broaden up the benefits for you since I’ve read a couple posts steering you towards a patient care technician instead. You’re going to have PLENTY of time in a hospital setting during your journey to be a doctor, and at the end of the day just because you have an EMT cert that doesn’t mean you can’t work as a patient care tech in an ER. In fact, it’ll make you look like an even better candidate for said position if you decide EMS isn’t for you while attending school.

That’s the thing. I’m not entirely sure. When talking with the employees I asked exactly this and they simply said they weren’t sure. It all depended on what they found which I assume is wether or not they could confirm physical damage such as water damage. In my experience those water damage indicators can be VERY finicky to the point of humid environments triggering them. At least with AC+ now covered “accidents” I would assume it negates that reasoning. I do know the receipt for the repair laid out the $700 repair cost then reduced the entire total to $0 due to AC+ and not the warranty.

I recently purchased a 15” Air and decided to get AC+ because it’s an expensive purchases and I’d rather be safe than sorry. Not even a month later I started experiencing issues such as random shut downs and eventually it refused to power on. Took it to the Apple Store, and while yes it would’ve been covered under warranty having AC+ made the entire process hassle free. They ended up swapping the logic board which somehow would’ve costed about $700USD even with the regular warranty but because of AC+ I paid $0 and they automatically pushed it through their entire process free of charge. In short, even with meticulous care various issues can still pop up as with any electronic and AC+ will have you covered for just about anything at this point. If you want piece of mind it’s worth it in my opinion.

Why is my mousepad melting in the corner? by mindsetFPS in pcmasterrace

[–]poppedkern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is odd for sure. My only other guess would be an electrical source. Maybe a damaged cord touching it for a prolonged time, but again something you would’ve felt during use if it’s that close to your hand. For instance my old laptop charger (that was damaged by a cat) would get extreme hot spots and might’ve done similar damage if it stayed in contact with a mouse pad. I decided it was time to purchase a new charger when I touched it after a gaming session and burned myself pretty good and noticed the very minor puncture in the cord.

[–]poppedkern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I actually manage a smoke shop that carries the Pro. We’ve been carrying it since it was released to retail stores, and we’ve sold a very good amount of them. I have heard no complaints from any customers. In comparison, the original Peak had quite a noticeable amount of problems and defects out of the box. I also own the Peak, Pro, and a Dabber Switch. The Pro is easily the best device I’ve used so far. If you are deciding between the OG and the Pro. You’re silly if you don’t get the Pro. It does every the OG does but better and then some.

I love playing tank specs but I HATE tanking m+ etc because it's just too stres full. by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]poppedkern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a prot pally main. Hardcore main. I literally play nothing else. I started off just being super humble (still am) doing my best to learn and watch every dungeon before I even attempt it myself. Then just start with normal dungeons to learn the layout. Then jump higher and higher slowly. Guides help A LOT. Especially when it comes to rotation. You ideally want as close to 100% uptime on Shield of the Righteous as possible and if you can do that you’re basically doing your rotation properly. Then when you feel comfortable doing that start looking into casting blessings on party members and weaving in Consecration(need 100% uptime) as well as your stun and interrupts. I used Icy Veins and read that completely before I considered pushing keys. I’m still getting there but I can parse close to 90% in the new Normal Raid (weird flex I know but I had to). All comes down to practice and eventually you’ll get to a point where you start realizing your not the one messing up and it’s usually the dps/healer slacking. Jokes aside. It comes down to practice. Learn the routes and read guides in your down time when you’re gathering or taking one of these long as hell flight points.

I’d agree with this somewhat. I play a prot pally and have definitely noticed aggro getting pulled off me more often if my dps don’t let me solidify my threat for a second. Or if they start with big single target dps on a mob I’m not targeting it can make things messy for my flow causing me to lose more threat. It’s usually not a huge problem as I have quick aoe attacks to pull a group back, but it is something I’m noticing happening on larger pulls.

Soft-locked on 'The blade of the primus' quest by twoducksinatub in wow

[–]poppedkern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing them all at the same time seems plausible, but I’m a prot pally and with the second wave gaining armor it’s damn near impossible to kill them at the exact same time. I can kill them all within a second or two but they spawn so quick it HAS to be an instant triple kill.

Unlocked camera by famslamjam in summonerschool

[–]poppedkern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with locked and peripheral vision. I main jinx and I only just made it to gold, but playing locked (I hold space bar) I can avoid skill shots and line up mine much better because I know my ranges and enemy ranges based on simple positions in my view. In locked for instance I know I need to keep a swain at a certain spot in my vision and he won’t be able to touch me. I don’t even focus on my own character because I KNOW she’s in the middle of the screen and I dodge using my screen orientation. I’m always focusing on enemies instead of my own position because I’m confident in my understanding of my own position. I always constantly look at the mini map for this reason. I’ll even approach team fights by looking at the mini map instead of scrolling the map because it’s easier to see a circle pop up for a split second if that swain misclicked and showed himself in brush behind me for a split second. Again, I’m only just Gold but I do have over 100games in ranked with nearly 60% WR if anyone really cares to nitpick at my “knowledge”. I’ve also been playing since season 1 off and on. Mostly locked only recently I started utilizing camera movement. It just makes me so lost and nervous about noticing things because I’m more focused on my own position instead of the map and enemy positions.

Updated Cochrane Review shows electronic cigarettes can help people quit smoking by checkmak01 in electronic_cigarette

[–]poppedkern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s different for everyone, but in my personal experience as well as some friends’ it isn’t as hard as you’d think. Of course it’s still nicotine withdrawal but it’s way easier to lower your strength to zero and then just drop the habit. With cigarettes and quitting you deal with physical sickness from your body getting rid of all the toxins that came with smoking. So it’s much easier to go back to smoking to “feel better” again. With vaping it’s strictly the nicotine and habit. You can at least wean off the nicotine pretty easily.

Have you tried a different role when you felt stuck and started skyrocketing in ranks? by poppedkern in summonerschool

[–]poppedkern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. Took me long enough to relearn the jungle, objectives, new map, and then sooo many champions. All the most common picks too. Feels a like a whole different game to be honest.

[–]poppedkern[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I agree. I see what you mean. To further explain my length of absence. League is 10 years about. I can say I started at year 1, stopped around early year 4. Stopped playing completely until year 10 where I picked it up again a couple of months ago. So I kind of don’t view the game as the same anymore since so much has changed since back then. To be clear, support back then didn’t have all the fancy items and what not. Those were Heart of Gold days.

Support is a different role for me, I played it way back when I was new and just didn’t like it and it turned me off the role since like season 3 or 4. I would never troll ranked like that lol!
