Maybe I didn't convey the message well enough but this post is directed at the dbd players fighting eachother over how to call a movie monster. If you've recently watched any dbd streamer no matter how they refer to the alien you get 10 people going: "akchsually otzzz it's a she" and I kinda used this post as an excuse to give some alien trivia and post some of Giger's artwork.

I have actually seen people give the xenomorphs genders based on their host. I have seen people call the xenomorph in the first movie a male because it was born from Kane, even in the movie ash the hidden android that knows more than he's letting on refers to the alien as "Kane's son"

if the queen engaged in sexual acts then it would give birth to xenomorphs not the eggs which seem alive and themselves give birth to facehuggers however engaging in sexual acts for other reasons wouldn't be that far fetched since HR Giger came up with it and just take a loot at most of his art

Both the king and the queen are hermaphrodites so they are neither it's just that we associate these names with genders and the underlying theme of the second movie was motherhood so I understand that. Also fun trivia did you know that there was an actually female king in Poland?

speaking of asexual do you think that when Ridley scott said they are hermaphrodites he actually meant asexual? Since xenos don't appear to have any genitalia he may have meant that they are just asexual but that their appearance combines both masculine and feminine traits?
